Don’t think Haas will be able to go based on what Painter has said. Sucks for the Boilermakers because they are very tough to beat with him. Even without him they’ll be a tough out I think.

Actually, I thought Painter might use him on that final play to guard the throw in guy. Even with only one arm raised, he would be difficult to throw over.

For being a once proud Civil Engineering school, I would be a bit worried. But they build really good roads... Disclaimer: I worked for a civil engineering outfit; the main principle engineer was proudly from Purdue.

Haas wore a large, taped brace on his arm while attempting to practice over the weekend, but NCAA rules prohibit him from using the brace in a game. The rulebook states that players can't wear any non-pliable brace or cast on their elbow, wrist or hand.

As interested as I am to see what Purdue's engineering folks can rush into production, I very much doubt we see Haas again in the tournament given the tone of the article. At least, it sounds like it would  have to be the most advanced elbow brace yet conceived, given Painter's standards and the nature of the injury.

If the doctor says Haas can play without doing further damage I’m fine with it. He looks like a YY or super male like Jaws in some of the Roger Moore James Bond flicks. The original Lurch on the Addams Family played by Ted Cassidy was another.
