If you're talking football, we've only played TA&M in '70, '77, and '95.

We didn't play TA&M in basketball in '81-'82 or '82-'83.

A&M offered Bo a ton of money to come coach them in 1982.

Bo called a press conference and said this....

"I thought it over....longer than I thought I would.  And I came to the conclusion that there are things that are more important to me.  And one of them is Michigan.  And with that in mind, I'm staying where I belong...right here."

I mistakenly thought he was referring to beating them on the field or court—my bad.

Being old enough to have been around then, I have very clear memories of the Aggie courting of Bo—locally, there was quite a bit of concern for a brief period of time until Bo announced his decision.

Thursday feels like it is so far away. Will be only our third game in 18 days. Hopefully that layoff doesn't continue to effect the offense.

Texas A&M tends to turn the ball over a lot and they typically don't shoot well. They looked scary against UNC, but on paper this is a good matchup for Michigan.

Hopefully we can double the post with some impunity.

Steve Fisher's teams were always good at that.  They would zip in there and immediately double the post as soon as the ball got there.

And they had good technique.  There was always somebody fronting the ball and swatting at it so that it was very hard to dribble and turn.  Any kind of hook shot was off the table.

They were also so athletic that they could pop in and out of the double quickly when the ball was passed back out.

We shoot the lights out we win vs

they pound the boards, block shots and run.

But we give up no fast break points. so should be interesting.

Go Blue.

Gotta figure they will post up Wagner right off the bat and he will of course get his first foul within the first 3 defensive possessions. Teams are doing this as a strategy now. Sometimes I think Beilein should start Teske, then when he gets a foul bring in Wagner off the bench and run a set play to get him an easy early look from three. If he sinks it, you know he’s going for 20+ that game.
