Women's NCAA 2nd Round: Michigan at Baylor

Submitted by enlightenedbum on

Michigan women are down 8 at the half.  Thome and Flaherty need some help, they have 30 of Michigan's 34.  Baylor looks way more talented and deeper than us, but we kept making runs to keep it close.  But Baylor went on a 5-0 mini-run to close the half and stretch things back out to 8.

Was literally in the process of making this thread. Would be a huge upset if we could pull this off, we've given ourselves a chance so far. Let's Go Blue!

Yeah, somebody else is going to need to step up and get some scores.  Flaherty and Thome are good, all-time in this program in fact, but they can't pull this off by themselves.

Desperately needed this timeout.  KBA cannot take Flaherty or Thome out, without a major run happening, feels like.  Haven't been able to get it back under 3 since Baylor made their run near the end of the first quarter.

Women’s basketball is still in its infancy. Too many teams and not enough talent to spread evenly among all the teams. Not to mention u gotta be crazy if you think there ain’t any cheating going on

If you are a woman and you can get a scholarship to go anywhere in the country, why would you turn down Stanford, Michigan or an Ivy League school to go to UConn? Wnba players don't draw high salaries on average and they could still go to the WNBA after graduation anyway.

No idea why KBA didn’t use another timeout during that stretch. We needed a breather and a chance to calm down. Playing on tilt and KBA just let it keep going

Still a good season. Should have been a 5 or 6 seed had we not had that rough stretch at the end of the regular season. But we weren’t going to get by a team of quality like Baylor.

I counted at least 10 times the refs pushed Mulkey back off the court.  If it were any other coach except Mulkey or Geno at UConn they would have been ejected.  She is such an arrogant piece of work.  And that goes back to her comments during the Football Rape investigation.
