It could be. But butting heads philosophically with the head coach would likely be a bad thing. Which is why when everyone was clamoring for a fancy up and coming spread guy to be the OC there was no way that was going to happen.

So make it his weekly duty to tailor for the upcoming opponent, 2-3 philosophically-different (out of left field), never-before-seen plays.  At coach's disposal for those situations when they MUST pick up X yards.  And/or, let him get creative within Harbaugh's philosophy, which could use some fresh takes - craft a new, hybrid philosophy.

Fisch and Wheatley immediately come to mind. I'm also not ready to give up on Pepp after one season, and I'm certainly excited about Warriner, although both still have to prove their worth. I know it doesn't quite fit your redundant board narrative of "accountability" starts and ends with the head coach, but the fact that you completely gloss over the defensive staff he's assembled in order to build your narrative is laughable. The guys a helluva football coach, and missed on a couple hires. It'll be ok.

...but i don't think that's the point.

i submit that none of us really have the slightest idea of what an actual analyst does, let alone whether ron prince is qualified to be one.  but there are guaranteed to be some change-your-diapers-type hot takes on the subject.

He was, however, the special teams coach at Virginia (also the OL coach and OC in another earlier stint at Virginia), and more notably for the local crowd here, the assistant head coach and tight ends (later OL coach) for the Detroit Lions as well. Not sure what you can glean from the latter, the Lions having issues which sometimes mask issues, but there it is.

He totally destroyed KSU, took over a good program, ran it into the ground. Was worthless with the Lions. Maybe he's good at getting coffee, or filing papers, guy can't teach or coach worth a shit.

Well KSU is a tough place to win, Synder is hands down the most undervalued coach in America, the lions wasn’t too bad a lot of injuries made him look bad, Taylor Decker, Travis Swanson, Wagner, and Lang. He didn’t have a good line to work with all year
