TGIF POSBANG - Selection Sunday Edition!

Submitted by UM Griff on
We have made it to Friday, MgoBloggers. It is that most wonderful time of the year - Selection Sunday when we discover our path through the NCAA Tournament. Michigan is the repeat Champion of the Big Ten Tournament, John Beilein is our coach, and the team is performing at a level that is dangerous to all our opponents. Time to fill out those brackets and enjoy the ride - Happy Friday!

So glad it’s Friday! Hopefully we’ll be celebrating a first round win this time next week.

I’m watching Pac12 b-ball right now, and it is awful. I know the B1G is down, but it’s still miles ahead of this crap. Oregon and Utah are 21 and 19 win teams, but they are an affront to decent modern b-ball. It’s not wonder neither is even sniffing the tournament.

Who in the country is playing as a team better than us right now? In the immortal words of Rasheed Wallace - "the ball don't lie". The selection committee has to know it - what other games were on last weekend? Time for the hoops gods to be fair and bestow a #3 seed upon us...

moment UM is #7 in the AP and #9 in KenPom and #12 in the RPI. Looks like a 3 seed to me.

Purdue is #9 in the RPI and MSU is #15.

Of the various metrics I think the RPI is the most heavily weighted..

Still Thursday out here in San Diego but bang away! Selfishly hoping that the boys will be coming out here for first round. However it plays out, we’re in for a fun few weeks. Go Blue!

Reminds me of LEGO Movie’s “Freedom Friday— except on a Tuesday!”

Fuck it... I’ll take getting in early on a Left Coast “bang” when I can.

Go Blue!

Happy Friday and Selection Sunday weekend from Dayton, home of the First Four. Looking forward to seeing which teams are headed this way. I may check out the free practice sessions on Monday.

Go Blue!

Wouldn’t a seeding position higher than Sparty be wonderful after the bowl season positioning? I still have Sparty slappies whining about that. It would cause a meltdown of epic proportions! Here’s to San Antonio!

Using an old Bill Tarrant book that worked for me in another life.  I think I'm gonna wait till 7 months or so to force him.  I've heard very good things about Bill Hillman's methods.  Thoughts?

when it was new (i think i still have it somewhere) and was very pleased with the results.  that dog was a machine and a joy to hunt behind. retreiver only, not a pointer.  that said, once you've learned some things you kind of end up figuring out a lot on your own, feel for the dog, your temperment and the pup's, etc.

have not heard of or used hillman, so can offer no opinion on that.  for some reason i thought your dog a pointer, or a pointing retriever, or maybe i misremember that since s/he is primarily a duck dog?   keep me in the loop.  maybe somebody will post an OT thread on their dogs and you can share some pics and narrative on the blog.  in fact, that might be a fine OT topic but it would have to wait until after hoops season.
