MVP Trophy
Was anybody ashamed by the MVP trophy awarded to Mo Wagner by the Big 10 ? I realize that it was a team effort but even little kids today are given "participation" trophies bigger than was awarded to Mo for all his efforts. Go Blue !
Are you criticizing the literal size of the physical trophy or saying someone else should have received that award? I'm very confused.

I was very pleased when he was roundly booed when introduced. Just not a fan of the man's policies and the direction he's taken the B1G. B1G network was a homerun, initial expansion was ok, but seemingly everything else has been poorly informed and executed.
It was a nice appetizer until the big games on Saturday. It took a few years, but Rutgers was finally able to make a contribution to the conference.
Need to save space in the trophy case for all the other awards this team is going to win.

It's not the size of the trophy, it's how well it fits into the "trophy case"

I'm more offended for Simpson. I think Wagner was really valuable, but Michigan doesn't win this tournament without Simpson. His defensive efforts are somehow worth nothing to the Big Ten.
Unfortunately, people outside of Michigan fans don't see just how good he was defensively, they just see the box score. Zavier was by far the most important player for us during the tournament.
I'll admit that I am guilty of wanting Simpson benched earlier in the season. I am happy that he proved that I'm an idiot.
I kinda thought Raak deserved it more. he has been consistently filling up the state sheets with less streakiness than Mo. I give the edge to him over Z just based on who i want handling the ball in late game situations. Always nervous when they foul Z

Come on man, there is not a lot cash flying around with the NCAA/B1G, this is the best they could afford. Times are tough.

Delany and Co. KNEW that any team that had a chance of winning the tournament had to fly to New York, so they were making it easier to put in a carry-on.

On Z, yeah, basketball is a guard's game, and point guard is the most important position on the floor. I don't hate seeing the trophy go to Mo, but I would think Zavier has a pretty good argument.

I wouldn't be surprised if there were some kind of NCAA rule dictating the size of trophies given to players.
I thought it should've gone to MAAR but I think you could've made an argument for several different guys. This tournament wasn't one guy carrying the team on his back. It was literally the whole team carrying itself. And I don't think too many of them care who got the MVP trophy.
They're going to be hosting a much more important trophy a little less than a month from now.
Why anyone cares about that, I don't know. The size of the trophy that means far more is quite impressive.
