Michigan in Detroit for first rounds?
What are the odds that Michigan is in Detroit at LCA for the first 2 rounds of the NCAA tournament?
Edit: Thank you for the feedback. I did search for this topic on the site before posting but I can't make heads nor tails of the search function/results on this site. If someone wouldn't mind posting a link to where I can find it that would be helpful. Thanks!!
But not as high as the odds of there being another bracket thread created soon
can look forward to 6 more days of bracket threads prognosticating our seed (sounds somewhat pornographic), followed by 4+ more days discussing the fairness and difficulty of our seed and region. 2 days of content spread out over 10+ days, kind of like the last episode of The Bachelor. Thanks Delaney...
I'd ask Ted Rydquist
8 sites for the first 2 rounds so... 12.5% odds. Factor in the NCCA likes to screw Michigan as much as possible, 0%.
Yo FUCK the National Commission for Certifying Agencies!
I am positive that it is between 0% and 100% - go ahead NCAA, prove me wrong!!!
You slacker.
But the odds are 100% that Detroit will remain in Michigan for the forseeable future.
how about windsor, a big international swap. the newpapers would love it. or gary indiana, still an upgrade on detroit.
to remain embedded in enemy territory until activated. you will know the signal when it is given.
but we have miles to go before we sleep. Remember, Agent Winchester, miles to go before you sleep.
The problem with that trade is we'd probably have to take South Bend as well. If you do City-Shithole Averaging, Michigan comes out on the losing end in a trade for Detroit.
You are seriously out of date my friend. Detroit is improving in almost every way a city can these days. It's an absolute balll down there now, all over the place.
You went from President to Zampolit Putin?
The man was a pig.
coming out of their asses.
Look, this is my story, okay?
+1 for you sir.
25 or 6 to 4.
No, wait, that's a Chicago song.

Less likely than you are to be torched for posting a thread asking about something that's only been tangentially addressed in other, far less specific threads pertaining to basketball
You don't need the search function. There are like 5 posts on the main page of the mgoboard sidebar.
there were so many Bracketology posts (Thanks, Ted) that the Detroit discussion was pushed off the front page pretty quickly.
You can safely rule out Charlotte, Dallas, and PIttsburgh as possible sites for Michigan based on other top-16 projected teams. If not Detroit you're looking at a very high probability of Boise with a slight chance of San Diego.
Michigan/Ok St
Louisville (don't remember team down south)
Dayton/Wichita St
Kentucky/ N. kentucky
Wichita St. & the southern school were the two farthest away at like an 8 hour drive. I can assure you we are not going out to Boise or SD. Not saying it will be Detroit. Thinking Nashville, Pitt, or Wichita as possible.
Now come sweet 16 you can travel anywhere. So if we are out west, we are out west. Won't happen the first weekend though. Pods were setup to keep teams close. They talk all these Big 12 teams making it, they are more likely to go west than us.
although I think there's a chance we're in Wichita or Dallas along with San Diego or Boise.
The pod system attempts to get teams as close to home as possible, but this year isn't going to do a very good job of that because of the geography of the host cities compared to the geography of teams projected to be seeded 1-4.
The problem this year is that 13 (!!) out of 16 teams projected to get 1-4 seeds are east of the Mississippi, but only half of the host cities are east of the Mississippi.
Kansas will be Wichita. Wichita State can't be in Wichita because they're the host school, so they're probably headed to Boise. Texas Tech will be Dallas, but then you still have 5 (!!) spots to fill between San Diego, Boise, Wichita and Dallas.
Assuming the Bracket Matrix holds (which it won't but for the sake of argument), you're probably looking at these assignments if the committee essentially puts the highest seeds the closest to home as possible:
Pittsburgh: Nova and Xavier
Detroit: Purdue and MSU
Nashville: Cincinnati and UNC
Charlotte: UVA and Duke
Wichita: Kansas and Tennesee
Dallas: Texas Tech (or Michigan?) and Auburn
Boise: 2 of Michigan, Clemson WVU or Wichita State
San Diego: 2 of Michigan, Clemson WVU or Wichita State
TL;DR: There's just no easy way to put close to home this year. Too many western host cities with too few good teams out west this year.
