OT: Shaq's Son Decommits from Arizona
Shareef O'Neal, a 4*, top-50 type commit, has decommited from UA. Not surprising given their current, um, troubles. How awesome would it be to get Shaq's son on the team? And we know Beilein loves former NBA player's kids.

to have Dad hanging around the program. Shaq is a genuinely funny guy.

Did you ever see the Comedy Central Roast of Justin Beiber? Shaq was on the panel and was hilarious, both his jokes and the jokes about him...

other than laughing my ass off I think Martha Stewart killed on that one too.

Most of those roasts are pretty good. The gloves come off, and yeah, even Martha Stewart went R-rated on Bieber! Shack is usually hilarious - I mean, how couldn't he be? An 8' tall man that can't talk or look straight can only be funny, right? Especially when he's trying to make jokes, anyway...

but someone still has to tell those jokes and not everyone on the roasts has good delivery especially given some of the random celebrities they throw on them for ratings.

Our class is set for next year. We don't need him. I think he may have some interest in MSU though? or maybe that would not be a good option for him either.

kid obviously has no integrity. He gives his word, and then Arizona runs into a tiny bit of trouble and he's just like "Kazaam, I'm outta here."

+1 for the Kazaam reference.
February 26th, 2018 at 11:46 AM ^
This wasn't a "tiny bit of trouble". Sanctions definitely are coming and Miller should be out...why would he stay.
He showed Zero in Mich, so almost no chance he would come even if there was a spot for him.

I think you missed something...

Seriously though...

i didn't put the /s until the end, and Kazaam is a bit of a pop culture stretch. I suppose I could have started the post with:
ATTENTION: I AM MAKING A LIGHTHEARDED JOKE. ARIZONA IS TOTALLY F'D AND SHAREEF IS TOTALLY DOING THE RIGHT THING
That would have made it a bit clearer and avoided the obvious ambiguity.

I've got to Steel this nugget.

I would assume he's not considering them either, especially LSU. So, maybe he would consider us.
This whole scandal might benefit Beilein on the recruiting trail, since he's winning by recruiting the right way.
Baumgardner wrote an excellent article today. It felt like the perfect closing argument against any Beilein dissenters.

Wouldn't agree with the following:
1.) DJ Wilson was lightly recruited
2.) Poole (Top 50) & Livers (Mr. Basketball) are overperforming.
Beilein is doing a great job but I think that is most seen by the development of MAAR & Duncan - 2 greatly improved players. If Zavier could shoot the ball better & Matthews could be stronger under the hoop, this team could be lethal.

I don't think people see Teske come in the game and say "Oh, crap!" Now I'm waiting for the Austin Davis Experience to take off.
February 26th, 2018 at 2:58 PM ^
Yes he's improved but his lack of athleticism can't be fixed. I actually think Austin Davis would acquit himself quite well if he played.

Back in 2009 the ghost of Shaq played one year for the Cavs. Clearly out of gas physically it was hoped he would provide the rim protection for LeBron but things didnt really work out that way.
Anyways, the summer of 2009 the Cavs had Shaq record a message from the team and they sent it to all the season ticket holders. And because mine went to VM I had a fantastic recording of 'HI THIS SHAQ" (then some unimportant stuff which I deleted) so that was my ring tone for the year. His voice is so distinctive everybody immediately knew it was him talking and wondered why my phone kept saying "HI THIS IS SHAQ" on every ring. So if I didnt pick up right away everybody around me heard "HI THIS IS SHAQ. HI THIS IS SHAQ. HI THIS IS SHAQ until my phone went to VM. Like an idiot I deleted it after the Cavs lost to Boston and Lebron left for Miami.
"HI THIS IS SHAQ" was great. Wish I still had it.

Does Michigan even have a scholarship available? Aren't they 1 over the limit if Mo decides to stick around for his senior year?

Scholarship not necessary, Shaq can afford the cost of attendence.

Rich guys can be surprisingly cheap. Ask anyone who's waited tables for Scottie (no tippin') Pippen.

Nobody ever got rich by giving their money away. Doesn't make it right, or classy, but it's accurate -- there are a lot of rich skinflints.
