Ayton was $100k and Izzo met with Dawkins on multiple occasions - somehow i think Bridges was more expensive than an afternoon round at Pebble Beach.

I guess the real answer will have to wait until the thousands of hours of Dawkins’ calls and Fed documents get released. We know Izzo and his staff hung with bad dudes - perhaps Aesop was right.

for a CSC that is beyond fast, that is light speed X 100.  only in the most extreme circumstances, such as a victim denying the charge and their being no physical evidence whatsoever, would a prosecutor make a decision on a charge that serious in that time frame.  you have a duty to investigate, a duty to follow up, gather corroborating data even (and especially) when that data points to innocence.

Even worse, they'll take years to solve a case, lay down a punishment while somehow managing to sound almost apologetic for finding things as they did. Indeed, they've even retracted sanctions *coughPSUcough* because in their very myopic view, they'd been such a good school and could have their dinner after all, no need for them to be in their room for the rest of the evening.

Lets be real here. Do you think the NCAA is going to let this thing blow up right before the tournaments? There is no way they are going to give up all of that revenue they would lose if all of the top players/teams were on the sidelines. Clear everyone now and rake in all of that money in March.

If they have to go back later and vacate some winsb what difference does it make to them? The NCAA and the conferences don't have to give back their profits.

In a statement, MSU interim athletic director Bill Beekman said MSU conducted a “thorough internal review”... MSU’s players have showed a mental toughness in recent weeks as their program and coach have been under siege after an ESPN Outside the Lines report questioned Tom Izzo’s handling of sexual assault and violence toward women in his program over the years. Meanwhile, the Spartans have won 11 straight games

What a horrifying article.

So it's not really about whether rules were broken or not that matters to the NCAA, but whether the school offered a "thorough" report.  Got it.

Watch them lose at the Trohl Center though.  Ball don't lie.

Cleared by NCAA. MSU presented evidence, then he was cleared. It doesn’t say NCAA cleared him. MSU made statement to sound that way. Why would anyone believe a word from anyone associated with that university? They have circled the wagons on every issue

Pretty easy to see journalists are trying to spin this. How can the NCAA clear anybody with only taking the schools word for it? Is MSU's position that the FBI is lying? Its just going to be more painful when all these schools have to vacate wins. Perhaps the guilty think there is safety in numbers.

All played and coaches mentioned in that leak cleared by NCAA save for Zona. Miller not coaching tonight and the NCAA told them it’s up to them whether to play Ayton or not.

Rumor is the schools and the NCAA knew about this weeks ago and so it was basically a double check to make sure nothing had changed.

I have my doubts the schools knew. I have seen these rumors on message boards, but can you cite a reliable source reporting this? I haven't seen any reporter saying this. I just think the schools DGAF for the rest of the 2017-18 season.

Compliance probably went to the coaches, players and families and asked if it happened. They deny it. The agents and runners are facing federal charges so they aren't going to talk. What else can you look into when most of the evidence collected by the FBI is not public yet? Despite Sean Miller's assistant coach getting caught up in this probe months ago, Miller was considered clean until the wiretap info got leaked yesterday.

Why would the FBI tip off the people they are investigating? Most of these schools probably did not find out until the reporters called them for comment. If they knew already, I think they would have had a statement ready for the press.

And like I posted in the OP, I think Arizona handles Sean Miller differently if they knew about this weeks or months ago.

The NCAA doesn't have any actual evidence to clear or suspend the players or coaches in the leaks. They are leaving the decision of whether to play them up to their schools. That doesn't mean the schools won't eventually be punished if they do,

If I was making the decision for a school, I'd play them if I knew the violations were big enough that the season was going to be forfeited anyway. Not much more to lose. If the only violation was very minor, then suspend the player for a couple of games just like you normally would.
