Drake Harris playing his last year at Western Mich

Hope has 11 good games
February 24th, 2018 at 1:30 PM ^
I hope he has 13 good games.
February 24th, 2018 at 1:32 PM ^
What about 14? Not likely, but could return to MAC Championship.
February 24th, 2018 at 2:06 PM ^
I think the good Dr. was referencing that WMU is on Michigan's schedule next year. But maybe he meant that the Flying Dutchmen play 11 games (except they don't, they have 10 games scheduled.)
February 24th, 2018 at 2:10 PM ^
Broncos can ride their raft to a national championship.
February 24th, 2018 at 4:05 PM ^
They can't win 15 unless they beat us on September 8th. So, no, I don't like that idea.
February 24th, 2018 at 2:04 PM ^
MAC championship and bowl? I'm saying that I hope he does not have a good game against us.
February 24th, 2018 at 2:08 PM ^
Yes. I know you were.
February 24th, 2018 at 1:24 PM ^
Good for him. Best directional school in the state right now, and that includes the Mid-Central Michigan University for Rules Violation Sciences.
February 24th, 2018 at 1:27 PM ^
CMU beat both directional schools last year.
February 24th, 2018 at 2:06 PM ^
Didnt pull in the beat recruiting class in the MAC tho
February 24th, 2018 at 2:47 PM ^
That's distinction is so meaningful that it's the first time I've heard it.
February 24th, 2018 at 1:26 PM ^
Good luck in Kalamazoo
February 24th, 2018 at 1:26 PM ^
Good luck in Kalamazoo
February 24th, 2018 at 1:26 PM ^
Not that it matters, but it is interesting that they gave him an exception to play on a team on our schedule next year.
February 24th, 2018 at 1:42 PM ^
Seems like the fact that it's not a Power 5 school plus the obvious geographic ties Drake has to the area would lead most reasonable coaches to grant this release.
February 24th, 2018 at 2:03 PM ^
If you've graduated from your undergrad institution do you still need a release? Like, since Drake is a grad transfer and not a normal transfer, does he need permission to go to any specific school? I genuinely don't know.
February 24th, 2018 at 8:15 PM ^
I don't believe so. I think that that was eliminated when the "grad program your current chool does not offer" clause was eliminated. I think grad transfers are complete free agents now.

I remember how huge of a recrutiing coupe it was when he flipped from MSU to us. This kid looked as a junior in high school like the next Randy Moss. Hurt his hamstring and never was the same.
Just goes to show you how competitive big time college football is, this was one of the best players in the Grand Rapids area ever, probably the best high school WR anyone from this side of the state ever saw. And he couldn't compete in college.
February 24th, 2018 at 1:31 PM ^
I believe this past year mlive ranked the top 25 high school WRs in the state of Michigan the last 25 years , and Harris was number 2 behind Charles Rogers .
February 24th, 2018 at 2:35 PM ^
I remember reading in the physical therapy journals that they now think hamstring strains are more tendon-based than muscular, which makes for a lot more scar tissue. The likelihood of re-straining a hamstring is disproportinately higher than many other "muscle" strains.
It's not rare for Olympic sprinters (obviously more one dimensional) to take a 1-2 years to return to competition for a hamstring strain.
February 24th, 2018 at 1:33 PM ^
Man those '14 & '15 classes were simply ravaged. Small classes, with very few "stars," and the ones that were there did nothing, except for one who only played 2 seasons. This is the reason for the state of the program right now.
February 24th, 2018 at 1:55 PM ^
When I saw this news, I actually was wondering how many from those 2014 and 2015 classes actually made it to graduation or are still here. It cannot be very many, although I could be wrong, and yes, that is definitely a contributing factor to all that we've discussed on this board in the last few months, IMHO. The funny thing is that I don't know if this specific point has come up before.
February 24th, 2018 at 1:58 PM ^
I've looked over the two classes a few times in the last month and from what I can figure, that was a two year period that yielded half a recruiting class. When you take a step back and think about that, it seems like it must be unheard of, except for a school that's gone under massive probation (I.e. Penn State a couple of years ago).
February 24th, 2018 at 2:03 PM ^
Self-imposed probationary sanctions...its what happens when you blow back to back coaching hires.
February 24th, 2018 at 1:34 PM ^
I thought there was a rule our players couldn’t transfer to any of our 2018 opponents.
February 24th, 2018 at 1:37 PM ^
I'm assuming that's more arbitrary than a hard rule. I mean, if he transferred to Ohio State I could see them blocking but a MAC school?
February 24th, 2018 at 2:04 PM ^
The rule applies to grad transfers
February 24th, 2018 at 1:34 PM ^

Hope your hammies don’t asplode

Drake.
February 24th, 2018 at 2:07 PM ^
Sweet, I can go watch him play in Kalamazoo! Good luck Drake!
February 24th, 2018 at 2:16 PM ^
Good luck, Drake! I hope you light it up in 11/12 of the games next year!
February 24th, 2018 at 2:21 PM ^
Good luck Drake. Ole Fleck may be gone now, but they're still rowing the boat in Kalamazoo right now. Litterally, half the city is under water right now...
February 24th, 2018 at 2:33 PM ^
On and off the field with everything. Glad he went to Michigan. Hope he stays healthy and have a feeling he will.
February 24th, 2018 at 2:38 PM ^
We all wish you well. Hoping for a healthy and productive final season as you obtain a master's degree!
February 24th, 2018 at 3:56 PM ^
Just had to get one more game in the big house!
February 24th, 2018 at 4:28 PM ^
To the young man. Hope he can stay healthy and just play ball.
February 24th, 2018 at 4:50 PM ^
Kid had talent. I’ve always wondered...what if Wilton had delivered the ball when he was wide open over the secondary on the first play of the MSU game in 2016. I think a TD there would have taken his career in another direction.
February 24th, 2018 at 8:39 PM ^
I can't understand why we left him on defense where he had no experience & was never going to be needed in a stacked dB room when the WR corps was desperate for somebody with experience, could get open, & catch the fucking ball??
He was defenitley better than the play we were getting from some of guys we were using.
What a nice & polite/respectful guy too.
February 24th, 2018 at 9:43 PM ^
Not saying he should have started this past year but don’t get why he barely saw the field and we would always play Crawford and even would play Moe Ways over Drake . Wtf?!?!
