UM leads NCAA in FB attendance - again (3rd straight year)

Submitted by Indy Pete - Go Blue on

Nice to be leaders again (hopefully best again some day soon, too).  No surprise here, and not necessarily new info, but the recently released data is official:

"The Wolverines averaged 111,589 fans per game at Michigan Stadium in 2017, topping fellow Big Ten schools Ohio State and Penn State, according to numbers released Tuesday by the NCAA.

Michigan totaled 669,534 fans during its six-game home schedule, according to the NCAA."

Remember the fans showed up in full force for the "electric atmosphere and hyped atmosphere" for the night game the sheep begged for.

The players were said to be motivated and the atmosphere would help them be fiery and motivated!

Then all that proved to be false as TEAM NOON said it would be.

But hey, all you fools got your precious and pathetic night game and it was a debacle as predicted by TEAM NOON.

TEAM NOON prevails.

There were two night games in 2017.  There have been several others.  Michigan has been excellent in night games, including the most recent blowout against Minnestoa and the previous classics against Notre Dame.  I have a feeling that you cheer for another team - one with a much less storied history.  Sorry for you 'little' Johnny.

The 2013 Notre Dame was really good.

Let's be honest, the 2011 night game was largely a joke.

I still can't understand why people cherish that game (basically when it was scary prediction into what the team would become in 2014).

I attended the 2014 night game against Penn State and got diabetes watching it   It was absolutely ridiculous to watch.

that he wasn't there !    First true night game at Michigan Stadium vs a hated rival, with a finish that will never be matched.  Yeah ... that sucked.  HAHAHA     I can recall being pretty fucking happy after that game, and I probably was still in the stands an hour after the game.

Dude, is your brain fuctioning on all cylinders?  That 2011 game was one of the most exciting games in UM Football history!  It has its own name: "The Miracle Under the Lights"

The last 1:41 of that game is epic and will always be remembered (at least by better fans than you)

You always remember your first. The others, not so much. BTW, I retired my 20 year old game hat after that game, knowing I'd never see another like it. I still remember the whole stadium singing after that game. Nobody left.

I'm a Team Noon guy but dude really? I don't mind a night game once in a while, I think the atmosphere is cool and fun. Did you watch the MSU and Minnesota games, the stadium was rocking and the weather and team fielded was awful. I am with you on having majority of the games at noon or 3:30, but night games are fun and staying. My only take is not have tons of night games in the Big House against the likes of Minnesota, rather save them for big matchups please.

Overall, your arguemnt is wrong and really makes no sense. You're like an old man yelling  (insert Simpsons news clipping of old man yelling at clouds or clint eastwood get off my lawn)

Your opinion is wrong. Unless sucking balls is great (which it is if it is happening to me, not so much if I have to do it). So maybe you meant that noon games are great? If so, I agree, both noon games and getting one's balls sucked are great.

Nobody outside of hardcore fans knows who won the NC 10 years ago.

Even my grandmother knows that Michigan has the biggest stadium and the largest attendance.

A lot of the world even knows it because of the soccer and hockey games we've had here.

It does count.

If the program were winning national championships, we wouldn't "care" about anything - recruiting stars, uniformz, Harbaugh's podcasts, etc. Winning cures everything.

Alabama *is* winning championships, and they still have message boards where they talk about stuff.

News flash: People like to talk about sports.

Cool would like to beat Ohio state on the field not attendance though. Pretty sure they don’t give a crap about this so why should we. I’m sorry things like this would be a lot cooler if we beat good teams at home
