I'll pass on that...LOL

Do it for the team
February 8th, 2018 at 9:34 AM ^
To do that. That day was obviously all about mom.
February 8th, 2018 at 1:45 PM ^
Maybe she was worried about sharkboy comin for her...
February 8th, 2018 at 6:53 AM ^
Yep, that is a horrible thing to do to your kid. It isn’t supposed to be her day, it’s his.
February 8th, 2018 at 7:27 AM ^
She better think about who will be buying her the big house if/when he makes it to the NFL.
February 8th, 2018 at 8:53 AM ^
Pete Carroll?
February 8th, 2018 at 9:43 AM ^
Florida boosters?
February 8th, 2018 at 8:13 AM ^
He transferred his senior year to a rival school. His teammates were pissed. Pretty sure mom was behind that too.
February 8th, 2018 at 8:14 AM ^
Not saying all parents have the purest of motives in these situations, but it wasn't long ago that Malik McDowell's mom was trying her hardest to get her son to go to Michigan in order to get him away from bad influences at MSU. She was clearly correct in her judgment.
February 8th, 2018 at 9:26 AM ^
Maybe she knew he'd be up to no good staying in town.
February 8th, 2018 at 9:40 AM ^
It's almost 5hrs from Pensacola to Gainesville.
Tuscaloosa is just a little over 4hrs away from Pensacola.
February 8th, 2018 at 9:44 AM ^
I was going off of someone saying the hometown team. Could still be a payout, or then Bama was the close to hometown team, or just all the bad press at Florida and tire fire they were.
Heck I hear they even lost to Michigan.
Thanks for correcting me!
February 8th, 2018 at 9:57 AM ^
I just happen to have been born and raised in Pensacola, FL

my sympathies

Love this board but goodness you guys sometimes are so ridiculous with your comments from the watchtower.
She wanted him out of town and away from the gangs and crew that he was hanging around and violence in Florida that her son's crowd was always a part of.
Yes she was a bit upset and acted immaturely but to rake her across the leaves as a bad parent or that she's taking money and it's ruining her payday.
Get it together people.

Is under attack by Aliens! People talking about kids mothers! Wow!
February 8th, 2018 at 7:41 AM ^
Then shall we go back to talking about coaches' mothers?

The whole family wanted Alabama or Tennessee he said I’m going to Florida.... Horrible decision but it is his decision
February 8th, 2018 at 7:38 AM ^
Why is it "horrible"?
February 8th, 2018 at 7:39 AM ^
Mom was surely promised some cash from either of those two schools. Looks like she cared more about the benefits than her son's wishes.
February 8th, 2018 at 8:45 AM ^
Not necessarily. she may have genuinely wanted him to go to the best football program over the last 10 years. at Florida, it's a new staff, no good results lately, and hometown. Maybe he has bad influences around him and she wanted him to get away. it's not just because she missed out on some benefits.
February 8th, 2018 at 9:35 AM ^
Yeah, that must be why she was hoping for Tennessee.
Not.
February 8th, 2018 at 10:28 AM ^
1) If she wanted him to go somewhere for football, then why the Tennessee hat?
2) Tuscaloosa is closer to his hometown than Gainesville is.
February 8th, 2018 at 9:14 AM ^
You might be right. But it could have had something to do with the 9 players who charged with credit card fraud last year, or maybe even the fact that the coaching staff which recruited him is no longer there.
I'm not sure that I would want my son playing for UofF in its current state (especially under Dan Mullen and Co.), but I'd like to think that I would handle it better than his mom did.
February 8th, 2018 at 8:27 AM ^
Going to Florida isn't horrible. You make it seem like he picked Texas State or something.
February 8th, 2018 at 9:34 AM ^
He's the one who has to go to school and play football there. It seems to effect him the most, he should be the one to make the decision.
February 8th, 2018 at 7:00 AM ^
Aliens? Lol, you sir are butt hurt. That lady is a douche and got called out for it, deal with it snowflake
February 8th, 2018 at 7:13 AM ^
If you think someone calling your moms a bitch is ok, then so do I. It’s no sweat off my back, snowflake. It’s a part of life I suppose.
February 8th, 2018 at 7:46 AM ^
I do love how people call each other snowflake unironically when the term (as it's being used) comes from a book/movie that satirizes the type of person who would call someone else a snowflake in a derogetory manner. It's all very meta.
February 8th, 2018 at 7:57 AM ^
Make it derogatory! I never use snowflake, buddy! Just embracing the kid who needed a hug as a child.
February 8th, 2018 at 10:12 AM ^
Every time i see someone calling someone else a snowflake, Idk why but i just picture some older person at their keyboard, pining away for “how things used to be”, wishing gas was still 25 cents a gallon, and kids walked to school uphill both ways lol. What movie/book is it from?

Hey "phil" go fuck yourself.

MGoBoard Post Quality Litmus Test #72:
- Does the post contain the word snowflake? If yes, go to Step 2. If no, go to step 4.
- Is the thread or post about actual weather or snow? If yes, go to Step 4. If not go to Step 3.
- Neg!
- Don't neg. Consider other litmus tests (see, e.g., Litmus Test #16: Is it a lame WD joke?; Litmus Test #107: Stupid dilly dilly jokes; and Litmus Test #139: Should Drevno and Pep be Fired - Part 2123243 of 49234028204).

Not gonna lie. Super odd seeing someone wear Tenn and Bama colors even if it’s not much of a rivalry these days.
At least she came back and hugged it out when she realized what bitch she was when her son started crying.
February 8th, 2018 at 8:52 AM ^
Just a guess, but I think she was wearing UT stuff because of Jeremy Pruitt. They must have really liked him when he was with Bama.

SEC...it just means more.

$EC...it just pays more. FIFY
February 8th, 2018 at 7:20 AM ^
I mean, that’s what I’d do if my kid picked the MSU hat. My kid would know better.
February 8th, 2018 at 7:31 AM ^
Well... that's a perspective I hadn't thought of.
February 8th, 2018 at 7:24 AM ^
She is upset that her son missed out on the awesome Engineering program AL has. No wonder she is upset and not support her kid.

Rumor is that she faked it for the publicity and when the cameras were off went and hugged her son and signed the LOI.
Anything for your 15 minutes...I guess.
February 8th, 2018 at 8:30 AM ^
a) The cameras were on for the hug.
b) Copeland posted on Tuesday night that he was having a hard time making his decision and spent hours crying about making the right choice, and he still didn't have an answer.
Anything's possible, but there's a strong possibility that this was just a very tough decision for the family (and Copeland himself).

Looks like you got your wish, fat boy.
Long live the king of bullshit.
