What a way to cap off a day.

The seat is hot, like it or not. Let’s see how the team responds (and the coaches too, once they get their final titles and all that...).

The dude is just himself. He shouldn't apologize for having a pulse, caring, enjoying life, and building relationships. The Crazy Harbaugh narrative people should be required to listen to ten episodes of Attack Each Day before they're allowed to do anything else on the interwebs.
And sad day when all of the post-signing-day top 25's have us top 5 or top 10, but our own fan base is acting like the earth opened up and swallowed our team.
2018 season is shaping up good, and 2019 class is shaping up good.
We could lose all of PSU/OSU/MSU/ND/WISC this year. It's a tough schedule. This is college football.
And we could also win them all. It's not inconceivable.
I know we're a bit jaded b/c of how Rich Rod and Hoke turned out, but year four for each of those guys was substantially different from what we have going into this year and on the recruits lining up for next year.
That silly article sounds like it came from this board. It certainly doesn't sound like anything coming out of administration in Ann Arbor.

good - bad - good - bad - good - bad - your post is all over the place. But I agree that he is just being himself.

I'm still in the "it's happening" mode with Harbaugh. Yeah, it takes a while to clean up after your program was in an 8 year long train wreck. If things do not improve after 2019 then I may be concerned. Everyone would have been excited if RR won 8 games in his 2nd or 3rd season which he did not! Things will improve and we'll except all the doubters back in a couple seasons.

Harbaugh would have to follow last year up with two more years of 9 wins or less and losses to OSU. Then his seat might get warm. The university made a big commitment to him. Besides, who are we going to get that's better?

“Harbaugh’s on-field results also have been similar to Hoke’s. The Wolverines slipped from back-to-back 10-3 seasons to 8-5 in 2017. Harbaugh has won two more games than Hoke did through three seasons, but Hoke also finished higher than third in his division — twice, in fact."

But Harbaugh is a much superior coach than Hoke! Losing to Rutgers!!! Blah!!!!

While I hope he's our coach for the next 10 years, I believe he only has 1 top 10 win, and has only beaten 2 division champs. He'll surely improve upon that number this year tho because he will have many chances with our tuff schedule. Time for the boys from last years epic recruiting class to step up and put us back on the map!

Apparently obvious details are something you and the article's author are oblivious to.
Trash article obviously written for click bait. Hit all the dumb talking points, put zero thought into it.

it's that the team and the coaching staff aren't going to have smoke blown up their asses for the next 8 months about how great they are; quite the opposite. If Harbaugh has any motivational chops at all, he'll use all the criticism to fashion an us-against-the-world mentality with the determination to prove all the naysayers wrong.

It's seemed to me for many years as though our opponents get far more fired up to play us than we do to play them.

So you mean there's a chance that the Michigan offense might turn to the Philadelphia Eagles' "Silver Linings Playbook" in 2018?

Seriously, there have been some odd circumstances that would have been difficult to predict, and there has been a lot of bad luck with our most important position.
JH came here with the cupboard bare, and still found magic in a transfer, and he recruited a highly ranked QB after losing out on KJ Costello.
Then Speight beats out the inexperienced freshmen, and proceeds to have a decent year until the end (and he wasn't terrible). (YEAR 2) There was reason to believe that Speight was going to be a strength rather than a weakness going into last year. He was at least going to improve on a serviceable year that included a few hiccups.
But then he was consistent, got hurt, and Peters couldn't unseat O'Korn. O'Korn implodes., and Peters comes in and gets hurt, and we're back to O'Korn.
I mean, say what you will about how Bama and OSU and Clemson can roll out freshmen who perform, but they also had zero holes on the rest of their team. We just can't afford to have subpar QB play if we hope to become elite. Someday, perhaps, but not now.
Year 4 means either Shea gets in and becomes QB, Peters plays better and keeps Shea off the field, or McCaffery kicks all of their asses. Either way, logic points to a more stable QB situation from here on out.
We have a zillion sophomores and juniors taking the field this year that were part of highly ranked classes. The sky fell today, but I'm pretty optimistic moving forward.

At somepoint the difference between the perks the athletes get (separate dorms, dining facilities, tutors, trips abroad, etc.) make college football less compelling for me. At one point I shared a lot with these guys and now I feel like their version of Michigan is so different from mine that we have almost nothing in common - kind of like the NFL.

Europe thing was supposed to be a recruiting talking point, especially with the parents. I think he's disppointed it doesn't even move the needle.
