What Are You Drinking?: Signing Day Nutpunch Edition

Submitted by Laser Wolf on
Lost our tackle prospects to rivals and our highest-rated and longest-committed recruit flipped on Signing Day. Genuinely excited for the Bell-Barrett-Gray signings and think all will outplay their rankings (significantly so in the case of Bell). But you can’t deny today was imagined to go much much better. So. What are ya havin’? Think I’ll have a few Great Lakes Conway’s Irish Ales and cackle to myself about the 2018 defense.

Why is everyone acting so surprised this day was gonna be shitty and we knew it immediately after the loss to OSU. The program is a mess right now but one good season is all we need to get the ship corrected 2018 is gonna make or break Michigan football IMO I Baughlieve

The overall coaching and gameplan is the Ohio State was actually very good.

The complete joke performances earlier in the year seemed to have been overcome.

The everyone here's savior Brandon Peters (who ran his mouth about for month talking tough) completely pussed out in the bowl game.

I'm on hopslam #2 of the night. And I've had an M-43. Oh and I have 2 super important meetings I have to present at. First at 6 am then the next at 7am tomorrow morning. Hoping my hangover game is strong

My god, read the front page post about recruiting. This was not a great haul overall, but in the context of situational pieces I think we will have a few pleasant surprises. When you take 60 players over a two year span, it tends to make you less attractive to recruits. We’ll be fine. The world has not ended.

I do care though. I wouldn’t click on the thread if I didn’t. It’s just the moody narrative that gets old. There are some really great players that we signed to this class and nutpunch as a descriptor is pretty shitty.

We were 19th in national rankings, brought in the top rated quarterback from 2016 as a transfer, and filled some positions with some electric players. 2019 recruiting is off to a phenomenal start. There’s no need for sorrow right now.

I'm not depressed like some on this board and just look forward to August and seeing how we look in South Bend. Neither extreme would surprise me.

Until then, M football is way on the back burner and I hope the coaches and team use the lack of media coverage and general respect in a positve way to build attitude, toughness, and even more intensity.

Now the basketball team's free throw shooting is causing me drink rum and cokes. cheers.

has not recruited a decent OT since he got here.  Unbelievable.

Anyway, eating a pizza and drinking a six pack of Busch Light so I can take an enormous shit in the moring like Harbaugh did with recruiting.

I'm not happy. We got jobbed in recruiting this year. Maybe Jim is going to pull a Dantanio and win with some projects. Either way ... 2018 11 wins or bust.

A double Bacardi and Diet Pepsi and a Miller Lite as I grill the burgers for dinner. Took two nice rips off the bowl too.

It was all that was in the cabinet, which feels apropro for today.

Hopefully apropro: I consider this the finest of well bourbons and better than many that cost much more.

After long consideration, I have decided to commit to Woodford Reserve, neat. It had the bold taste and ability to quickly numb my feelings, which are most important to me right now.
