Russ Chandler Stadium... Yost of ACC Baseball?
(Turning google double post into a GaTech baseball thread.)
Georgia Tech's baseball stadium (Russ Chandler) is like the Yost of ACC Baseball stadiums. Just ask Clemson's coach John Leggett. Have the Yellowjacket fans taken it too far?
"Jack Leggett: I go to Georgia Tech ,3 days in a row, 27 innings and I get absolutely verbally abused. From first pitch to last pitch at the game at Georgia Tech is by far the worst college baseball atmosphere for coaches that I've ever seen. I can't wait to get on the bus and get home...our players get chewed up alive down there and they can't wait to get home and play in a positive atmosphere..."

I go to many games at Russ Chandler, and while I might argue that it could be the best setting for college baseball in the country (perfect size, awesome skyline views), I would never mention it in the same sentence as Yost.
The crowd is usually not that rowdy, although there is a small group (20 or so) of fans that sit in the first couple of rows right by the third base coach and let him have it. I was there for the Clemson series and didn't think it was especially brutal, but then again I wasn't the third base coach of the team getting swept back up I-85.
Haha, that's awesome. If I was in Atlanta, I'd definitely go to the games. That's awesome that you get to attend. I've not witnessed a game, so I can't say for myself, I just got the vision of Yost when reading that thread and listening to the audio. He seemed really upset/flustered. Maybe it was that they got swept... but yeesh. Coaches don't typically complain about crowds to this extent.
I am five years removed from graduation, but I still have my student ID and get in free to all of the games by just showing my card. Cheap? Yes. But awesome.
Did you go to Georgia Tech? My g/f went there, class of '07
