What happened? Did the moving van fail to show up? The stories indicate Kraft added a lot of money, but I can't see a coordinator getting to $8 million or whatever McDaniels would have pulled in Indy.

I am not sure if this is good or bad news. I just know that the Colts have been an embarrassing team on and off the field here for a couple of years now. Hope we get a great coach, but not expecting it.

McDaniels was set up to fail in Denver. The owner was unfortunately suffering through Alzheimer’s but still in charge, which created a leadership vacuum as everyone tried to get his ear. There was a bit of GoT going on in the organization, and McDaniels lost out after clearing up the mess that Shanahan had left behind. It will never happen, since I’m in the minority of the fan base, but I’d take him back in a heartbeat.

That's the first sane analysis from a Denver fan on McDaniels I've ever read.  Most Denver fans hate the guy, but the reality is exactly what you pointed out.  McDaniels did a lot of the clean-up work and had a couple drafts that set the stage for thier Super Bowl teams.
