moves we've seen recently from MSU's leadership. There's an old Mark Twain saying that applies to that crew.

The last thing Hollis did that became public was to send a letter to all of the former MSU gymnasts that were abused by Nassar informing them of free counseling services.

"Dear Spartan" the letter began. He sent a damn form letter. It seems that neither he or Simon could be bothered to learn their names or show any empathy.

with the complete lack of silence from the BOT, it suggests to me that Hollis possesses information that they do not yet have.  Additionally, regardless of how he tries to clean it up, Izzo's statement that he "hopes the got the right guy" is a baffling and non-sensical statement that creates the impression that the question he is answering is not identical to the one being asked.  IMO.

I wonder if the axe is going to eventually claim Izzo with the NCAA and other investigations and if they look into the Payne/Appling case

Twain generally disdained formal education and its accompanying politics (e.g., 'I never let schooling interfere with my education') - this one attributed to him seems even more apropos: "In the first place, God made idiots. That was for practice. Then he made school boards."

If I was a State fan, I'd want the whole board gone. The two who did not support Simon (I only know of the one, who made his dissenting view public only the day after the backlash started) should have persuaded the others or at least made a public dissension. To allow a vote of support for Simon showed that the board is as tone-deaf as the president had been.

When the Board announced its support of LAKS they stated it was unanimous. I would guess that someone close to the Trustees who later recanted told them that they were idiots and needed to back off. The puzzling thing is wondering whether the other trustees don't have contact with anyone who would give them such advice or if they got similar advice and rejected it.

Bottom line: There are no good guys on the MSU Board of Trustees, they should all be recalled.

I had a boss (or really my boss's boss) who was a department head in my first job out of college who ran up over a hundred thousand dollars in personal expenses on the government credit card. "Oops I pulled the wrong card out of my wallet."

He also "retired."

Please explain why the bball and football coaches should resign because of Larry Nassar.

We're waiting...

Yeah, no doubt they have enough of thier own skeletons, but making stoopid comments is what they do.  And it's exactly what they did when supporting the person that signed thier paychecks (Simon) last week - make a stupid statement.

You should spend your time calling for the MSU BoT to start resigning.  Or, better yet, call for the AG to begin a real investigation that has real consequences - beyond a simple resignation (or retirement).  Consequences that have jail time associated for the people that failed to follow-up on complaints, or failed to perform investigations of those complaints, or stonewalled the complainants and investigations.
