And good the MSU students who wrote this. That's got to be hard to do, but I think most agree it's the right thing now. Her not going to day one of the sentencing, then showing up on day two to save face - in addition to the revelations today - are beyond the pale...

Yeah I know she showed up yesterday. I'm talking about today.

While I think what has happened there is deplorable, and she possibly has culpability - making an appearance at a sentencing has no bearing on anything. It changes absolutely zero, and accomplishes nothing other than a few nice photos. It’s hard for me to get riled up about that.

I apologize if I am posting too many threads about this monster but I know someone that he treated, for a foot problem thank god, and this story has hit really close to home for me as I live in Lansing as well.

I have family that was at Twistars and he ran for school board and lived in my home town.

Fuck Larry Nassar and the MSU administration.  Tear them all down.  Sue the pants of Simon, Hollis, and Klages as well as Twistars, and US Gymnastics.  They were all enablers.

Take recordings of the impact statements from the 100+ survivors.  Compile them into a single audio file.  Install a shatterproof speaker in the ceiling of Nassar's cell that plays that audio file on a continuous loop 24/7.

I'd say do the same for Simon's office, but... I'd rather just expel her from said office, yesterday.

Happily, his is one of the seats up in November.  Along with Board President Brian Breslin (son of Jack, for whom the Breslin Center is named).

Vote for literally whoever challenges them.  In the Republican primary, if that's contested, and then in the general.

Also, I stand by my previously commented punishment. Four walled cell with a slow moving sandpaper treadmill floor. You have to keep moving or the floor peels your skin off... slowly.

Thanks for posting. I read the editorial. This is worse than Sandusky. They need to start going after those that did nothing or covered it up. It sounds like a long list of administrators, coaches, and professors that need to resign or be prosecuted.

I feel like there's this law around these parts where an educator (including coaches) is mandated to report any abuse (sexual or otherwise).

I would assume that is applicable all the way up to when the State of Michigan asked Simon for information on this tpic and while she did have a lot of inside information on complaints and allegations she (through their attorney) said they had none [no report].

i've hardly ever seen anything so tone deaf.  the hardest thing to read in that editorial was the line that this man could have been stopped in 1997 had MSU people done anything about the allegations. Simon and all of Nassar's protectors in this case have 20 years of further victimization of hundreds of girls on their hands because they didn't stop him when they could.

Further to that, as evidence by their newspaper headline, they disregard the whole picture. Many heads should roll.... Simons resignation should be a start rather than a proposed remedy. My bet is that Moo-U will not complete the necessary fumigation. They’ve been circling wagons for some time and have entrenched themselves to harbor the complete culpable list.
