haha absolutely not. The only racy thing about them is that there is a pole involved. It's so funny how the media gets attached to things and leaves logic behind. This is a frickin beauty contest where they made the models pose in skanky underwear - yet - they have a problem with the same girl wearing shorts and a tank top dancing on a poll for a radio contest. Laughable.

PS. She is hot.

Maybe it's just me, but I think "raciness" should refer to the amount of clothing worn, not the presence of a pole.  The pictures joeyb posted are therefore more racy than the ones shown on CNN.  If wearing a tanktop and short-shorts is racy, then thousands of women at every single Tigers game are dressing scandalously.  Maybe we should alert one of the generic blonde entertainment reporters immediately.

Just another shot in the salvo of all beauty pageants' hypocrisies.

Sooner or later they'll just call a spade a spade, right? ... right?

I feel really bad for her......it seems kinda clear that the media is embellishing the facts here and that at least part of it is due to her ethnicity. Fuck the MSM.

As an Arab-American I was pretty happy for her when she won.  But now seeing how she's being assaulted by the fringe right wingnuts (not just in regard to these "racy" photos), I feel sick for her.

Huh?  I haven't seen much of this on FOX (they're covering the elections) but CNN, TMZ, The Insider, E!, yada yada yada are getting a lot of traction out of it.  When did those outlets become populated by fringe right wingnuts???

Try again hyphenator.

You take issue with my hyphenation?  So I should forget my heritage, the land of my birth, my family overseas?

Fringe right:

http://www.danielpipes.org/blog/2010/05/affirmative-action-in-beauty-co…

Or a certain other pundit whose name or website I shall not provide b/c the thought of directing traffic her way makes me sick, claiming that she is an "auxiliary member of Hizballah"

No goblueclassof03, what I expect is people who demand tolerance of them to extend the same courtesy the other way.

This isn't a racial or political story in the slightest; it's just the stupid media trying to dig up dirt.  The ethnicity of Ms. Fakih doesn't matter -- digging up dirt on contestants has indeed happened before and it will happen again.  So is one to assume your outrage exists only on account of Arab contestants but when the media tries to stir up garbage against other contestants, you're silent?  If so, then yes, I have a problem with your hyphenation as we're all Americans and an injustice is an injustice.  Period.

Furthermore, when someone makes a stupid comment, politicizing a story, when again, this clearly isn't a political issue in the first place, it shouldn't be a surprise to be called on it.

click on the link I sent.  here's another:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ynews/ynews_ts2099

I made a specific reference to the fringe right assaulting her because of her ethnicity.  I feel sick about these assaults.  I provided evidence of these assaults.  You seem to be ignoring the very existence of this evidence and pretending that she is not being attacked b/c of her ethnicity and religion.  Click the freaking links and stop wasting my time.

Also, I'm an Arab-American, deal with it.  My experience as an American of Arab ethnicity is much different than yours, I guarantee it.

I'm not policiticizing her victory.  The assholes I've referenced on the fringe right are the ones doing that.  So direct your indignation towards them.

For every link from the fringe right about this, I can provide one from the left... and that's why this whole story is pointless.

You're the one with the reading comprehension problem.  I never said you're politicizing her victory.  I said you're politicizing the reaction to her victory -- the photos, because media outlets of every persuasion are muckraking right now.  It's NOT only the fringe right as you would tend to believe.

You have no idea what I have gone through in my life.  I guarantee that.  That's the second ignorant thing you have said.  The difference between me and you is what has been difficult for me makes me stronger.  You, would rather cry and whine and automatically assume everyone is against you becuase of your ethnicity.

Make sure you vote this post down too, coward.

girls always stay in the early-mid 20's?!  I mean how many girls do you know that have been pole dancing at a bar.....  Its about as common as it gets nowadays.

Another Title for the State of Michigan.....  Big Ten Title next????????  Something good is in the air........

It's actually pretty funny to watch the clip fast...they keep scrolling through the same three photos over and over again--at least CNN is all about the news and not the ratings. Almost makes you think they are just airing the story as an excuse to show pictures (which are not at all racy, BTW) of a hot girl on television. Where have I seen that marketing strategy before??? Right, the Miss America pageant!

Ok, the media seriously needs to calm down about this.  These were posted the next morning by mojo in the morning (95.5).  Surprised it took CNN this long to respond; must be a slow news day so they were able to catch up.

Anyway, it was a "Stripper 101" contest and if you look at the photos she was the MOST dressed woman there.  And that's another thing.  It was ONLY women.  The entire audience was women.  There's another photo showing her with dollar bills stuffed down her bra, yet she is still wearing it, her top, and shorts.  The media needs to go bark up a different tree.  This is MISS USA where it's all about looks (no talent competition) and as previously mentioned the photo shoots for the pangeant were racier.

Just let her enjoy her crown, geez.  Stop trying to find a story when there's none.  Seriously, she won a beauty pageant not a Mother Teresa Award.  I think they should be more worried about the 7 year old girls doing "Single Ladies" in the Dance competition, not someone of-age entering a legit contest.

I've known or met Lebanese, Assyrian, Persian, Chaldean, and Iraqi women and every single one of them fell in a range from "attractive" to "jaw-droppingly hot".  Good genes from that part of the world, apparently.  Or at least amongst those who come to Southeast Michigan and Chicago.

OK.  I live in Southern California where there are tons and tons of Middle Easterners.  Of the women, everyone of them fell in a range from "completely unattractive" to "jaw-droppingly hot."

No doubt about it, the Middle East has some of the best looking women in the world.  They also have some of the ugliest.  For every Kim Karsashian there is a large uni-browed woman who needs to shave more often than most 16 year old boys.

but it has an interview with her and Miss Ohio with extra hot pictures.

Let's just say the Miss Ohio is slightly less - articluate - than Miss Michigan.

Best Quote:

Is the Michigan-Ohio rivalry in
your blood?

MI: For me, I think it was August
30, 2003, I stepped foot on the
University of Michigan campus,
and I heard the fight song the first
day, and I was kind of making
fun of a few people singing the
fight song, and then I watched
how everyone was cheering.
Then I got to see how Ohio State
fans were during the game, and
then I just started going into it
more and more. Yesterday, I was
driving to Ohio, and people were
beeping, and I was like, “wow, a
lot of people are beeping.” They
were literally beeping at me. Then
I remembered my plates say,
“Michigan alumni, Go blue.”

I am deeply in  love.
