I’m a big religious person. Grandparents were straight off the boat from Italy. I grew up with over 10 aunts / uncles on that side of my family and 50+ cousins. Huge Roman Catholic family - religion was instilled in our Brains at a young age.
My family and I will be praying for you and your uncle. Whatever you do, never give up. Godspeed

You and your family. God Bless you and please talk with your loved ones daily. Try to remain positive for him. I️ lost my favorite cousin to cancer! I️t was thirty years ago and I️ cried yesterday looking at his picture. God Bless you Dennis.

Fuck cancer. I hope he makes it longer than the percentages and in a comfortable manner. Go blue.
January 17th, 2018 at 6:34 PM ^
He was diagnosed in late October. He passed on December 22nd.
My father wrote a Facebook post called “It was a wonderful life”(It’s a Wonderful Life was my uncle’s favorite movie)with a picture of him and my uncle as children. Rather poignantly my grandfather’s shadow can be seen.(was the one who took the picture)
Family is everything.
God Bless your Uncle and family.

Consider your request fulfilled. Attitude does matter when up against this sort of thing so I will pray that you, your Uncle and all of those who surround him stay strong and positive. Here is hoping your whole family is laughing about the 41% number in 8 or 10 years as your Uncle celebrates another cancer free year.

Well, this sucks. I'm sorry to hear this, Dennis. Nobody ever deserves cancer, it just arrives. I lost a sister to cancer, and my wife lost her mother to it (buried her on wife's birthday). Cancer sucks ass.
Fuck cancer. Fuck cancer all the way to hell.

OP: Contact me by Email ([email protected])
I'm part of an ongoing clinical trial that may apply.
January 17th, 2018 at 10:06 PM ^
Thank you for your post and contact. Following up on an email as well. In 2011 I also was treated for a pancreatic attack ( no cancer ) and volunteered for the clinical study. Perhaps other patients who also are a part of this study can contact a web site if there is one that the University posts?
Thank you for your dedication and work and we hope people like you and the staff team find a way for detection before it's too late.

I will echo the sentiment of others, and has someone who has watch family members succumb to this disease - "FUCK CANCER"
Thoughts go out to you and your family.
January 17th, 2018 at 8:53 PM ^
Prayers coming your way.
Coming up on two years since my mom passed from stage 4 cancer. At the end, MRI showed more tumor than lung. Spent two days watching her basically drown to death. I am still having a hard time processing everything.
My prayer for your uncle is that he may have healing and peace.

Dennis stay positive. My 46 year old cousin was diagnosed with stage 2 pancreatic cancer just over 2 years ago. With lots of prayer, treatment, persevearance, and as I like to say miracles. He has been cancer free for almost a year now. Believe in the miracle.
My cousin is a big water-skier and he was back on the lake last summer slicing up the water just like he was never affected. He has been a true inspiration for our extended family and friends. Miracles still happen. Prayers for you and your family as you go through this journey.

Also, check out that post from maybaum a few spots up. I believe something drew you here to post and for that reply to be a potential lifeline for him. Call it fate....I'll call it hope.
January 17th, 2018 at 10:04 PM ^
So sorry to hear this. I really hope it’s a (quite rare) neuroendocrine tumor, which has the 41% 5-year survival you cited if treated surgically. Unfortunately, a much more common adenocarcinoma has a 3% 5-year survival at stage 3. I say this not to potentially diminish your hope, but to make sure you have the most accurate information at your disposal. I wish your uncle many years of happiness to come.
