Highlight Videos - DPJ & Tarik Black

Submitted by FanNamedOzzy on

Hey guys, in the past few weeks I've collaborated with Donovan Peoples-Jones and Tarik Black on a couple videos. It's always fun working with these guys - hope you enjoy.

Notre Dame and Penn State each lose a great deal of talent and coaching. The bye before PSU is nice since it seems that we always get poorly timed byes and our tough opponents always seem to get very convenient ones (PSU had their bye before our game with them last year as well as in 2015).

I think we will beat Notre Dame. Either way, I think we will win every game between ND and OSU. All of this is in fact dependent on the QB situation improving i.e. Shea being eligible or BP/DM taking a gargantuan leap.

One of the things that jumps out at me watching the two short videos is Black's first step after catching the ball on pass outside. Its explosive. He catches, plants and goes. DPJ seems to survey the field first and is slow to get going.

Dude who put up 149 yards getting hype videos made of him says something about our offense. First thing I thought was "is this gonna be a 20 second highlight vid?"

I think Black would have been great this year and maybe worth another win or two. He is one of the most impressive Freshman WR I can recall right out of the gate.

I so badly want to be excited about the '18 team, but I can't shake the dumpster fire of an offense I witnessed this past season.   Brutal O-line.  Clear QB regression across the board and overall terrible QB play.   Receivers only able to run a couple of routes.   Beyond vanilla play-calling.   Very few players on offense showed improvement from '16 and I saw some alarming regression.

I can't fathom how, after 4 weeks of Bowl practices, this offense could look THAT bad against a mediocre team.

I think '18 is going to be brutal.  I hope and pray that I'm wrong, but my confidence in this coaching staff has been shattered.  That offense was Brady Hoke '14 level of bad.
