Vs Brady and David Harris?
I’ll take Brady.
January 14th, 2018 at 5:49 PM ^
Edit: nevermind.
January 14th, 2018 at 5:55 PM ^
Don't forget about Mr. Lemonade, Alan Branch. FWIW, both Harris and Branch were inactive against the Titans.
January 14th, 2018 at 4:54 PM ^
That pretty much ensures Tom Brady a 7th Super Bowl.
January 14th, 2018 at 5:00 PM ^
I believe Brady already has 7 Super Bowls... won 5.
January 14th, 2018 at 5:00 PM ^
Don’t be so sure. The teams that have beaten Brady in the postseason have been teams with ferocious pass rushes that were able to get after him early and often. The Jaguars have the best pass rush in the league.
I wouldn’t favor them in Foxboro next weekend, but I would at least give them a punchers chance.
January 14th, 2018 at 5:25 PM ^
It's the model from the 2007 and 2011 Giants' Super Bowl wins over the Pats. Generate great heat with only 4 down lineman, always drop 7, mix zone and man and play a low safety to beat up the slot on the shallow cross.
Jacksonville has an excellent chance if they don't Bortle it away with picks.
January 14th, 2018 at 7:45 PM ^
And needs to be heat up the middle. Tom is not fleet of foot, but he is the master of crafty in pocket manuevering to evade the rush - particularly when it comes off the edge.
Get a rush up in his face, don't allow him to slide into small pockets from where he can throw, and you have a formula to beat the Pats.
That said, Belicheck knows this and will scheme to get Gronk and scat backs to release on quick outs and screen passes to force the linebackers into difficult coverage matchups. IMO, this game is won based on the Jags ability to tackle in space and hold up the recievers (and Gronk) at the line of scrimmage for just long to let that pass rush get in Brady's face. Should be a good one.
January 15th, 2018 at 9:39 AM ^
I think this game will be won (or lost) based on Bortles. The Jags won't completely shut Brady down, but that pass rush has the ability to harass him all night long and possibly force him into making a mistake or two. Jalen Ramsey and Co. are a very opportunistic bunch. We all saw what the Giants and the Broncos were able to do to Brady in the postseason. With the level the Jags D plays at, it would be foolish to assume they can't do the same.
If Bortles plays like he did yesterday, and if the Jags D can hold the status quo, I give them an excellent chance to win. If Bortles plays like he did against Buffalo the week before, this game is already over. My guess is he plays somewhere in the middle.
This game will be close, and if Brady throws a bad pick at the wrong time I could see the Jags stealing this. But ultimately I can't bet against the GOAT. Especially when he's playing at home and is one game away from a playing for a sixth ring.
31-21 Pats.
January 14th, 2018 at 6:12 PM ^
The steelers got their comeuppance. I'm shalieved.
January 14th, 2018 at 4:56 PM ^
i hate roethlisberger so i’m happy
January 14th, 2018 at 4:56 PM ^
If Henne can't beat out Bortles, we don't want to see your dream come true.
January 14th, 2018 at 4:57 PM ^
I will settle for a Patrick Omameh vs. Alan Branch showdown in the trenches. Hopefully Branch is healthy enough to play next week.
January 14th, 2018 at 5:01 PM ^
was an undersized 2-star signing everyone on here was bitching about?
January 14th, 2018 at 5:03 PM ^
Unfortunately most of Rich Rod's other ones didn't pan out.
January 14th, 2018 at 7:02 PM ^
He also signed undersized 3, 4 & 5 star guys that didn't pan out.
January 14th, 2018 at 6:38 PM ^
Jarrod Wilson for Jacksonville. He may start against the Pats.
January 14th, 2018 at 4:58 PM ^
Cost me $170.
Thanks Mike "shit my pants" Tomlin.
That was the worst coaching I've ever seen. That's not hyperbole. He should genuinely be fired for that. No less than 5 complete idiot coaching decisions. I won't ever bet with a team he coaches again. Pathetic.
January 14th, 2018 at 4:59 PM ^
I see you've never watched the Lions or Browns.
January 14th, 2018 at 5:05 PM ^
But the decision to kick onside with well over 2 min and 2 TOs in the pocket was... yeeeesh.
They need to put clock management, especially TOs , into someone else’s hands.
This was always a terrible match up for the Steelers. Play this game five times and the Jags win at least three.
January 14th, 2018 at 5:07 PM ^
Was Tomlin thinking? Can’t wait to hear his explanation. Anything other then I screwed up is complete BS.
January 14th, 2018 at 6:06 PM ^
His defense couldn’t stop the Jags, I totally understand his thought-process there. The onside kick was just poorly executed.
January 14th, 2018 at 6:11 PM ^
It was a stupid call and it was wrong. It cost them the game. Idiotic.
January 14th, 2018 at 6:17 PM ^
huh? Sorry, teasin' ya.
January 14th, 2018 at 6:56 PM ^
Yeah but with 2+ min left, they were going to run into the line three straight tins which is exactly what they did. His decision is not defensible.
January 14th, 2018 at 7:03 PM ^
Glad they Lost. Maybe it's Karma for shitting on Veterans. And no shit they weren't the only team that did it, but to shame that Vet who stood earlier in the season was shameful as hell, I'll never root for him again.
January 15th, 2018 at 8:52 AM ^
If you don’t like it , then you can gettttt out!
January 15th, 2018 at 1:35 AM ^
Said it before and I will say it again the kneeling/opting out has zero to do with veterans. Everything to do with civil rights. If you can't understand that then you're an idiot.
January 15th, 2018 at 9:34 AM ^
"Idiot"
January 14th, 2018 at 5:10 PM ^
They have played twice already this season and Jacksonville is 2-0 so I'd say that is a safe call.
January 14th, 2018 at 5:10 PM ^
I've seen a handful of steelers games this year, and their coaching staff is totally lost when it comes to game management and situational awareness.
Remarkable that they win so many games every year
January 14th, 2018 at 5:37 PM ^
That happens when you have a top-5 RB, a top-2 WR, and a HoF QB. They can out-talent a good chunk of the teams they play. Especially in a very weak AFC North.
January 14th, 2018 at 5:29 PM ^
I was amazed that multiple times the Steelers did not get out of bounds at the end. They looked dumb.
January 14th, 2018 at 7:50 PM ^
in the playoffs. Quality franchise, shit coach. Guy is a glorified hype man / cheerleader. They've been choking away Super Bowl opportunities over the past decade. Cowher was also overrated regarding scheme and game management.
January 14th, 2018 at 4:58 PM ^
2 turnovers sure helped the Jags. One for a TD another inside the 20.
January 14th, 2018 at 5:03 PM ^
I hate Pittsburgh fans, fuck the steelers and fuck the penguins.
January 14th, 2018 at 5:27 PM ^
...and fuck the penguins, except Hagelin and Hunwick.
January 15th, 2018 at 1:11 AM ^
Hunwick is still in the NHL? Or is it Matt Hunwick
January 15th, 2018 at 12:38 PM ^
Matt Hunwick plays for the Penguins
January 14th, 2018 at 11:40 PM ^
So much hate
January 14th, 2018 at 5:03 PM ^
Also got his ankles shattered by slow ass Big Ben on a fake lateral
January 14th, 2018 at 5:06 PM ^
That was acually a missed PI call.
January 14th, 2018 at 5:09 PM ^
I know Fouts thought it should have been called, but I didn't think it was flagrant. Wilson got there close to the arrival of the ball and was making a play on it.
January 14th, 2018 at 5:12 PM ^
50/50 call id rather see go to the defense
January 14th, 2018 at 5:26 PM ^
Yeah, that’s what Dan Fouts, who clearly wanted the Steelers to win, said.
January 14th, 2018 at 5:10 PM ^
Ankles shattered? It wasn't that bad. He overran the play on the fake. Happens to a lot of guys. It wasn't like Roethlisberger juked him into grabbing/diving at air or turned him around.
January 14th, 2018 at 5:20 PM ^
Ankles definitely shattered
January 14th, 2018 at 5:07 PM ^
Jarrod Wilson is still boring
