Michigan Offers Julian Barnett, with a Twist?

Submitted by Youngharbaugh4 on

The dead period is over, and one offer to go out today was for 2019 4Star in-state ATH/WR Julian Barnett out of Bellville (Same school of 5 star Devontae Dobbs). This is an interesting offer because of how long it took for the staff to extend it. Because of the slow play on michigans part and Barnetts lack of camping, he ended up committing to MSU. But, the twist in this offer was from Pass game coordinator Pep Hamilton who was the coach that offered him. Given the rumors of Pep possibly heading to the NFL, it would seem odd for him to be out recruiting. In the links below are 2 (VIP) twitter posts from Sam Webb. Although they are paywalled, the titles themselves are interesting enough, and provide a decent amount of information.

I really don't care who's coordinating what.  I just want to see the offense running an NFL-like passing spread with power run concepts.  After watching both Alabama and Georgia fail to stop either, I want it.  And those offenses were running basic-ass basic pass plays!  I also remember how wide open our WR's were all day against OSU.  I mean, John O'Korn threw for 195 yds!  JOK!!!  An NFL type passing spread with a bruising run game will beat the crap out of teams.

I don't care who's coordinating it, just make it work!!!

Barnett isnt coming here. If we can get a visit though you never know and it will freak out MSU fans.

Dobbs may pick MSU if he stays in state. Ohio State or Bama if he leaves the state. He has something against Michigan.

Figured out and we have a top 5 team next year! And w the rumors of the Arkansas coaches getting $500 to $800K each, I know this!!!

We better pay Partridge some serious $$$ as he's worth it and he will be gone by next year latest if not this year if he's not getting a bump to $650 to $750K range!

Partridge, Brown and Mattison have earned every damn penny IMO AND MORE! The only ones on the staff IMO that have been earned and under paid!!!

Pay this man his money!

Im more pissed that we arent going to get Devontae Dobbs than anything

#1 OT in the country. Top 10 overall in 2019. Yet we have already lost him because UM wasnt showing much interest according to Dobbs

SMH no wonder our Oline is constantly fucked

Dobbs just isn't a fan of Michigan. And his coach isn't helping. I get the feeling he wouldn't pick Michigan no matter what. Barnett has been set on going to MSU for years, was no big deal when he was let an elite recruit, but then he started declining and ran a 4.41 and he's all the sudden a borderline 5 star.

We have some studs already in the 2019 class, we'll find many more. Dobbs is a good recruit, but I don't think he's close to the best OT in the country.

Enos the best we can do as possible OC. And we're relying on the slight chance Shea gets to play. Yeah, feeling none so good about next year, especially with that schedule. Harbaugh's juice on the sideline and with everything else...has seemed to disappear.
