Bummer
December 18th, 2017 at 8:59 PM ^
Too bad we couldn’t bring him on board.
December 18th, 2017 at 9:14 PM ^
Wouldn’t let him on board.
December 18th, 2017 at 9:23 PM ^
Florida is perfect for him.
"We care about academics... unless it interferes with getting a football recruit"
December 18th, 2017 at 9:52 PM ^
Totally don't get this one. Florida is not Michigan, but it is no slouch when it comes to academics.
December 19th, 2017 at 7:02 AM ^
Which is what he was implying. When rubber meets the road, clearly Florida is willing to bend more rules than Michigan is. Florida is a good school.
December 19th, 2017 at 9:30 AM ^
Don’t sell Florida short. They’re a tremendous slouch.
December 18th, 2017 at 10:44 PM ^
Yea yet Michigan let Patterson in coming from the same school. Both schools got the player they wanted/needed.
December 19th, 2017 at 2:35 AM ^
Edited for accuracy: According to I Like Burgers "Shea was on the SEC Academic Honor Roll and has a 3.02 GPA according to Ole Miss' site."
Every P5 team has good students and bad students. Except for maybe Stanford and a few others.
December 19th, 2017 at 4:05 AM ^
Cardale Jones finished his degree at Ohio State while also being in the NFL. This old Cardale Jones trope is tired as fuck.
December 19th, 2017 at 7:39 AM ^
Do you even internet bro?
December 19th, 2017 at 7:53 AM ^
We ain't come here to let facts interfere with a funny narrative!
December 19th, 2017 at 9:28 AM ^
You can't call yourself Laser Wolf and then be a sensitive bitch..so, this is your last warning.
December 19th, 2017 at 11:51 AM ^
So, you're saying Cardale is actually a role model?
December 19th, 2017 at 12:04 PM ^
FSU once had a Rhodes Scholar on their football team; every school has perfectly intelligent, college-ready athletes on their rosters. But it's pretty clear that Michigan couldn't get his credits/grades to transfer over while Florida did. That isn't a judgment on Jefferson as a person, only that Florida found a way to clear a guy who Michigan wouldn't, and that tells you something about the flexibility of UF's academic standards when they need a couple more players.
December 19th, 2017 at 1:01 PM ^
That's why we will never beat or even match them in recruiting (unless some total asshat takes over the HC position who doesn't know what he's doing).
December 18th, 2017 at 10:04 PM ^
lick a my balls
December 18th, 2017 at 10:07 PM ^
The "a" earned you an upvote.
December 19th, 2017 at 7:07 AM ^
He's got Italian balls.
December 18th, 2017 at 10:15 PM ^
that the same rules apply to all schools. This is a good example. Florida is a good school but their standards are obviously more "flexible" than at Michigan. I am okay with this. More than okay, I am proud. All schools are not the same.
December 19th, 2017 at 5:53 AM ^
Do we know that for sure? I've heard rumors, mostly here.
December 18th, 2017 at 9:04 PM ^
Welp.
Good luck to him.
December 18th, 2017 at 9:09 PM ^
I like the WRs we have on the roster. Just a reminder, we have:
– Tarik Black
– Donovan Peoples-Jones
– Nico Collins
– Oliver Martin
– Kekoa Crawforr
– Grant Perry
– Edde McDoom
– And then a bunch of capable (flex) TEs with NFL futures.
December 18th, 2017 at 9:22 PM ^
got a fair amount of play this year
December 18th, 2017 at 9:23 PM ^
Experienced WR’s will be much better than inexperienced ones. DPJ, Black, and Perry are going to be fine. Throw in the TE’s and you can cross pass catchers off the list.
December 18th, 2017 at 10:02 PM ^
...if we can just get the refs to call an honest game and throw the flag when the entire stadium can see that our receivers have been the victims of defensive holding and interference.
December 19th, 2017 at 1:29 AM ^
They're too busy ignoring the D-line being held.
December 19th, 2017 at 9:49 AM ^
now that's funny
December 18th, 2017 at 9:38 PM ^
Our WR's coach is gonna coach um up right good!
December 18th, 2017 at 9:10 PM ^
Guess there were no academic hurdles at Florida to worry about.
SEC! SEC! SEC!
December 18th, 2017 at 9:12 PM ^
But Florida is supposed to be a pretty good school. Huh.
December 18th, 2017 at 9:39 PM ^
Maybe there is something to the notion that Michigan has more rigorous standards than other schools. Just a thought.
December 18th, 2017 at 9:44 PM ^
Just for fun you should call into 97.1 and tell them that.
December 18th, 2017 at 11:10 PM ^
But they rank around #200 in the world every year and we rank top 25. There's still a difference, apparently.
December 18th, 2017 at 9:22 PM ^
Transcripts check out.
In all seriousness though, good luck to him. I sincerely hoped that it would have worked out here.
December 18th, 2017 at 9:23 PM ^
Would have liked to have him but we have a ton of talent at WR. I think it will benefit this team in the long run to have an extra scholarship this year rather than yet another receiver on the depth chart.
December 18th, 2017 at 9:29 PM ^
With Black back and everyone else a year more experienced and options at QB?! The defense?! Gonna be a good year!
GO BLUE!!
December 18th, 2017 at 9:56 PM ^
Oh well. We have DPJ, Tarik Black. Nico Collins and Oliver Martin. That WR class was exciting coming into the year. They will all grow this offseason. Grant Perry and Crawford. We should be good. This hurts but still have good talent on our team.
December 19th, 2017 at 12:22 AM ^
Man I hope they perform better than this year. I wasnt ever confident they would get open and that we had to rely on TEs.
December 19th, 2017 at 12:27 AM ^
We had a bunch of open WRs and TEs that got over looked or over thrown.
December 18th, 2017 at 10:21 PM ^
Poor guy won't get any yards due to the infamous incapability of Florida quarterbacks
December 18th, 2017 at 10:29 PM ^
Interesting . . . isn't Florida well respected academically? Maybe ESS EEE SEE mentality doesn't give a damn about that stuff when it comes to 'ball.
December 19th, 2017 at 12:53 AM ^
Michigan has always been very challenging when it comes to transfers. That goes for regular students as well as athletes.
It's not surprising that kids from Ole Miss have a tough time with our admissions. If Patterson got in, I feel pretty confident he earned it academically.
December 19th, 2017 at 4:01 AM ^
At least it wasn't OSU.
December 19th, 2017 at 5:09 AM ^
Just beg the SEC, last year to change an admission policy for grad transfers, because they weren't maintaining enough credit hours, once they transferred in for their Grad programs? They also take JC transfers on a regular basis.
December 19th, 2017 at 1:59 PM ^
The SEC had a rule that if a grad-transfer didn’t actually finish his career with a graduate degree then that school could not take another grad-transfer for 3 years. It was a rule unique to the SEC, and uncharacteristically harsh for them.
Florida had a few grad-transfers that did not actually graduate, and gave the SEC the first opportunity to actually enforce the new rule with Malik Zaire. Instead the SEC voted to get rid of the rule.
December 19th, 2017 at 9:22 AM ^
Guess he doesn’t like to win!
Doesn’t he know Michigan curb stomped these fools last two times we played them.
If I am not mistaken we are undefeated against them
