Michigan offers 3* MO WR Ronnie Bell
December 16th, 2017 at 1:21 PM ^
Chase has always been a huge long shot.
December 16th, 2017 at 1:29 PM ^
Last time he was on the podcast with Brian, Steve Lorenz seemed to imply that Michigan had a good chance to get Olave. But I read on your site recently that Olave canceled his visit this weekend. Do you think this offer is related to that?
December 16th, 2017 at 1:53 PM ^
I think Michigan wants another WR, and they have to cover their bases. I think there's still a chance with Olave, but since he basically can't visit again until January, the coaching staff has to cast the net a little bit wider to try to make sure they get a WR in the class. They can't put the majority of their eggs in the Chris Olave basket when he still hasn't visited.

I see Josh Jobe just flipped to Bama. Did the staff just lay off this kid? I thought he transferred to a Don Brown school too.
December 16th, 2017 at 3:17 PM ^
4 loss season will do that
December 16th, 2017 at 3:30 PM ^
Oh, wait, no there is not,
December 16th, 2017 at 4:02 PM ^
Let’s start with a WR coach, first. The next few years are well set with WR talent if there’s someone to coach them up.
December 16th, 2017 at 4:49 PM ^
Once we start showing stud QB's the WR's will show up to get the #'s for NFL draft.

Not sure what film you guys are looking at. Ronald Bell looks like the sleeper recruit of the century. Fast, elusive, great hands and elite athleticism (check out his basketball highlights). Great work by JH and the coaches to find this diamond in the rough. Will make plays for years to come.

And the competition is decent - Park Hill is the #8 team in the state of Missouri.

Yeah's a good athlete. Looks like he has good top end. Needs more though and he has the quicks on the basketball court but he isn't super quick. Don't get me wrong he could probably shake me like nothing but I could get to my top end speed back in the day a lot quicker than he does and I'm a white guy. Not to be racist but you know what I mean! He's a natural athlete but is lacking the strength in the in-between gears to get to that top end quicker. Hopefully that new S&C coach can open up this can of whoop ass for all of these receivers. They are all lacking it. Good quicks but they need these in between gears to hit that top end super fast. I'm already working on it boys!

OH MAH GERD A 3 -STAR YOU CANT WIN THE PLAYOFF WITH 3-STARS YOU NEED 85 5-STAR PLAYERZ!!!!!!
/s
December 16th, 2017 at 1:34 PM ^
Dude, going after a few lower rated diamonds in the rough or Don Brown specials is fine but settling for low three stars because you're not getting any of your targets is not good.
Starz matter and this class is trending towards ending with a wet shart.
December 16th, 2017 at 1:43 PM ^
With those kind of comments and that attitude, it is definitive that you smell like Asparagus piss and that is why you are so negative.
December 16th, 2017 at 1:46 PM ^
Also, wouldn't ALL sharts be wet?
December 16th, 2017 at 1:50 PM ^
If you eat just right, I’m sure you can shart little pebbles.

Don't throw stones in a porcelain house.
December 16th, 2017 at 2:39 PM ^
Try throwing porcelain in a tempered glass house.
December 16th, 2017 at 2:20 PM ^
Yes. I realized this just before posting. Posted anyways. It just adds to the visual...
December 16th, 2017 at 1:54 PM ^
What is so negative about his comment? I think everyone is aware that the 2018 recruiting class has not been up to Michigan's standards. That is not to say that this class wont end up being good a couple years from now. Just not as highly rated as many of us expected. Average player rating is not phenomenal either. If we keep Reese, add Friday, and a couple other dudes I will be happy as I believe much of this class is simply for depth purposes after the last two huge classes.
December 16th, 2017 at 2:13 PM ^
Currently sitting 12 with 16 (sixteen! recruits). I'm giving it time before any disappointment...
December 16th, 2017 at 2:28 PM ^
I was optimistic about this class until this week. I though we might get Chase, Friday, AND NPF and that would make for a really nice class.
Now Chase and Friday are trending away and we didn't get the other Ole Miss guys.
There's a chance this class was better 2 months ago than it will be when all is said and done.
December 16th, 2017 at 3:15 PM ^
If you thought we would get all three of those guys you were incredibly naive
December 16th, 2017 at 3:49 PM ^
I thought we were favored for Chase and Friday and had a chance for NPF.
Your English comprehension isn't so good.
December 16th, 2017 at 6:20 PM ^
How is Friday trending away? Two speculative CB's for OSU who is about to add a fourth 4+ star DL outside of Friday? Sky falling much?
December 16th, 2017 at 3:54 PM ^
True fact - not everyone can smell asparagus piss. Maybe he falls into that category.
December 16th, 2017 at 1:23 PM ^
kinda obvious to what it means for Chase isn't it?
December 16th, 2017 at 1:29 PM ^
of this young man? His 247 profile is very limited.

December 16th, 2017 at 1:56 PM ^
No, I had never heard of him until about 15 minutes ago.
December 16th, 2017 at 2:15 PM ^
This seems promising.
December 16th, 2017 at 1:38 PM ^
Looks like this kid was formerly committed to Missouri State for basketball. Recently decided to play football at the next level. Not sure what his projection is.
We also just offered DE from Germany that’s committed to G Tech.
December 16th, 2017 at 1:39 PM ^
the Germans!
December 16th, 2017 at 1:46 PM ^
He has an intriguing skill set / athleticism for a man of his size. 247 has him ranked near the top 300.
December 16th, 2017 at 1:42 PM ^
With this and a new DE offer, looks like they may likely miss on their top WR and DE targets.
Hopefully they don't lose their top DT, Friday.
December 16th, 2017 at 2:41 PM ^
This exactly what I was thinking. Friday is a must. Harbaugh will figure something out.
December 16th, 2017 at 1:54 PM ^
This kid is slooooww. Bad acceleration too. Good ball skills and has nice short area agility. Reaching here.
December 16th, 2017 at 1:58 PM ^
I'm not super impressed with the film I've watched on Bell. He looks more like a preferred walk-on type of guy.
December 16th, 2017 at 2:21 PM ^
I'm curious if this offer is for a preferred walk on spot.
December 16th, 2017 at 3:16 PM ^
It has happened before, with Joe Gibbs's grandson and Wilton Speight's brother, just to name a couple...
November 21st, 2019 at 8:36 PM ^
Care to re-evaluate?
December 16th, 2017 at 2:09 PM ^
Maybe they decided they need to recruit like MSU to actually beat MSU.
December 16th, 2017 at 2:19 PM ^
Ronnie bell!
December 16th, 2017 at 2:19 PM ^
Could this offer be for a preferred walk on spot?
December 16th, 2017 at 2:21 PM ^
I watched his film, not great. I know that people say stars don't matter, but in all honesty, they do. By missing on guys like Chase and other high ranked recruits and then basically replacing him with this guy, does not look good. This class has its good players and I like what I see out of the 3-star guys we have, but these last two offers are kind of sad. I feel like we have whiffed on so many high-ranked kids this cycle. I really hope they turn the heat up next cycle on our top targets. We've already missed early on Logan Brown, I am hoping they can get him back and turn it up for the rest of their targets and revive 2018's class with 2019's.
December 16th, 2017 at 2:27 PM ^
We need the jimmies and joes. The firing of offers in december is because the staff didnt do a good enough of a job recruiting in the summer. Osu doesnt have depth classes and we put 11 guys in the nfl and cant recruit off of that. Time to get two of the best recruiting assistant coaches.
December 16th, 2017 at 2:26 PM ^
This guy has a skinnier body than Drake Harris. This is a WTF offer. I swear, it seems like Michigan throws out scholarship offers like they're just throwing them against the wall and see what will stick.
December 16th, 2017 at 2:27 PM ^
For the guy that was questioning my take on our uninspiring recruiting class...where are you know???
December 16th, 2017 at 2:46 PM ^
Pointing to the current roster, Shea Patterson, the 2018 season and subsequent 2019 class.
December 16th, 2017 at 3:17 PM ^
The recruiting class hasn't concluded yet.
December 16th, 2017 at 2:28 PM ^
Seems to have decent hands. Not particularly big or fast, maybe a Grant Perry replacement? UM is his only D1 offer?
Either some on this staff are really good at identifying diamonds in the rough or they are scrambling to fill the class.
