Always fun to see who got what awards. Most are pretty obvious but seeing McCaffery as Scout Team player of the year is a very good sign. Also, is anyone wiling to bet against Ben Mason being a 4 time champ of the Toughness Award? I'm definently not.

I think his dad played for the dolphins, thats crazy how that popped in my head when i saw that last name. I like that award that dcaff got, hes gonna compete for that job next year.

John Offerdahl, is arguably the best defensive player in WMU history.
Though Jameson was a walk-on for Michigan, gotta love his bloodlines and that he got scout team defensive honors.

Oh ok gotcha. Didnt realize that, i just remembered blitzing with him in tecmo super bowl when i played with dolphins.

Thank you! I had a case of "Where have I heard that name before?", and it was bugging the hell out of me. Daddy was damn good back in the day.
December 12th, 2017 at 10:27 PM ^
Why didn't Offerdahl get a "yay!"?

So whats up with that ole miss transfer Deonte Anderson? I read that his grades might not be up to par for michigan standards. Can anyone confirm? Updates?
December 12th, 2017 at 10:52 PM ^
anderson is in, it’s jefferson w transcript issues*
December 12th, 2017 at 11:45 PM ^
Ahh good to know. Hopefully an announcement on anderson soon, he's gonna be a stud
December 13th, 2017 at 12:15 AM ^
Slow-playing Anderson a bit to hold out for the 5-Star kid from Louisiana?
Absolutely no inside info but spots are going to be tight if that Ath from GA signs and we are still holding spots for Tyler Friday and Petite-Frere and probably that ASU OT decommit.
December 13th, 2017 at 12:21 AM ^
I'm not so sure about that. Anderson is proven and legit, and just as highly touted coming out of high school. I think the staff knows that adding his talent and experience to the secondary would be huge. Imagine him and khaleke on the same field... my oh my

I sure hope they had all their exams all finished and marked before they announced they were visiting and transfering to another school.
December 12th, 2017 at 11:06 PM ^
cool to see all 3 DL recognized and awarded bc while hurst proved to be 1 of countrys top overall players, all 3 played well and did their thing.
happy for higdon, he earned it.
decent chance most improved on O came down to 2 TEs with gentry topping mckeon - both improved big time since last year (so did hidgon and others but they prob like to spread out awards when possible - ie hurst not also winning DL).
lavert hill improved as much as anyone but he didnt play much last year so maybe thats a factor.
ben mason will be fun to watch next few years - he may KO someone, or himself, with the way he covers kicks and smashes wedges. had a feeling id dig masons style when i saw his signing day interview
December 12th, 2017 at 11:34 PM ^
to Gary, even though Hurst got the bigger awards.

Wow. With that GPA and him getting PT this season, I can see a line like this next year:
LT: Bredeson
LG: Ruiz
C: Spanellis
RG: Onwenu
RT: JBB
That's five returning guys with playing experience and 4 returning starters. That line can get us a lot of rushing yards. If one of the redshirt tackles steps up and takes JBB's job, the line could be even better.
December 13th, 2017 at 12:37 AM ^
Are we still wishfully thinking Bredeson is a LT? I not optimistic
December 13th, 2017 at 12:44 AM ^
He is not the prototypical LT, but that might be the way to get our five most experienced guys on the field. I will be watching the spring game very closely to see how the redshirted linemen perform. That, and QB are the two biggest questions (not in a bad way) going into next season. I guess who replaces McCray is another.
December 13th, 2017 at 9:14 AM ^
I'm excited to see our replacements for McCray. McCray could smash a run but when I saw him covering....I knew where the ball was going. I think our replacements for him won't be too big of a drop off in run support but should be a step forward in pass pro. Hopefully.
December 13th, 2017 at 3:50 AM ^
Bredeson was definatly recruited as a tackle. I expect him or James Hudson to win that job next year.
December 13th, 2017 at 8:29 AM ^
Pretty sure Bredeson was all guard, but just has some athletic ability to move if needed. But with Hudson (who I expect to be LT), and the others, I don't think he will. My money is on him staying at LG.
December 12th, 2017 at 11:53 PM ^
Really wish #22 didn't get banged up on the back 3 game stretch and couldve helped this team win a couple more games!
December 13th, 2017 at 12:11 AM ^
McCaffrey*. First attempt: good. Second attempt: fail.
