2018 Starting QB, who you got?

Curious what the board thinks.

Who's taking the first snap at Notre Dame next September 2018?

I'm in the Malex Zone! /s

I'm still with Peters. If Shea or Dylan can command the offense like Peters seemed to (as indicated by the odd switch in confidence and poise of the offense), then it's gonna be a competition!

Peters. After a couple days thinking about it, I think Peters is gonna crush it.

Patterson will be a serviceable backup, but I think Peters's growth in the system is going to outclass Patterson's attempt to adapt to the system.

Translation: Peters is already closer to being a pro QB than Patterson can get by August.

That's my opinion, and I'm sticking to it.

Peters is my guy but it's hard to argue what Shea can do. I see Shea winning it because he has the swag boys. The frickin kid can move and make plays. Peters gets planted into the ground like I did on the playground in kindergarten. Then I started opening up cans of whoop-ass not long after.

I said it before and I'll say it again, 2018 is the year that this team cracks skulls and dominates. 2019 is annihilation of all mother schmuckers in the way. Hope this team wrongs me next year and is undefeated though. I also hope the players take the shitty refs out at the knees in the big games. That's all I really want for xmas this year and the next. Congratulations Mr. Patterson. You've made one of the best choices in your life!!!

Harbaugh sees the talent, we all see it.  But Peters is soft spoken, and Harbaugh is/was brash. A year watching a brash QB like Patterson command the huddle and trash talk opponents might be what Brandon needs to man up a bit.

Nobody like the antics of Baker Mayfield when they went overboard, but everybody would love a cocky/confident QB like that...especially one that sticks a flag in that toilet bowl in Columbus.

Peters is a talent, but I think Harbaugh it seems Harbaugh wants his QB to have that edge and Patterson seems to bring it.

I think its simpler than that...I think Peters didn't seize the oppportuniy during the summer after his coming out party during the spring game whilst the veteran/less talent guys led the team. Summer is critical from a team development and leadership perspective and Peters had better jump on this opportunity because I get the sense that Shea ain't fking around.

He has been receiving quite a bit of practice hype, but last I heard he's still only 205 lbs at 6'5". I imagine he would have to be in the 220 lb range to play without getting wrecked in the same fashion as Blackmon at FSU.

He is also lacking the in-game experience that both Peters and Patterson have.

The practice hype was also based on his scout team performance. Which... doesn't mean much. He's given a playcard by a coach, has a few seconds to look at it and then goes and runs the play. Rinse, wash, repeat.

I did the same in high school after I switched over to WR from QB (didn't play defense) and being able to freeball a play off a card is a lot different than memorizing a playbook.

I normally take practice hype with a grain and I admit he’s a long shot but I can’t get that video of Don Brown taking a Brandon Peters question to talk about how great McCaffrey is on the scout team, being redirected to Peters by Chengilis and still talking about how great McCaffrey is, out my head. It would be tough to give him the first snap, first game but I won’t count him out yet.
