The rest of college football is all
And that's about where we stand.

Make brady hoke full time head coach.
December 6th, 2017 at 3:32 PM ^
I'd be amazed if they weren't already discussing it with him.
Is it possible that ANOTHER AD will hire Hoke just to walk all over him? Fulmer is just as manipulative as Brandon...
December 6th, 2017 at 7:28 PM ^
That is what I most look forward to when they hire another coach. Fulmer will be an Alvarez-type AD and Tenn will be back owning the Fulmer Cup in no time.*
*Looks like Sparty placed 4th in 2017 Fulmer Cup competition
December 6th, 2017 at 3:50 PM ^
is intensely unsettling
December 6th, 2017 at 4:26 PM ^
Fuck yeah!
December 6th, 2017 at 4:42 PM ^
that one strand of hair.
December 6th, 2017 at 4:42 PM ^
that one strand of hair.
December 6th, 2017 at 3:12 PM ^
Other than the gratuitous image of a Buddhist monk burning himself alive for peace, this is pretty funny...
December 6th, 2017 at 3:31 PM ^
knew this would be one of the 1st comments
December 6th, 2017 at 3:40 PM ^
Why, because it's a terrible choice? A better choice would be Nguyen Van Lem being executed.
December 6th, 2017 at 3:58 PM ^
The naked girl running from the napalm. That would have been worse.
December 6th, 2017 at 4:02 PM ^
She was injured in a hibachi incident. Don't you believe your government?
December 6th, 2017 at 4:03 PM ^
and just figured it was a typical couch sacrfice during any saturday in east lansing.
December 6th, 2017 at 5:15 PM ^
from the Vietnam war. That one of the naked girl might have been the worst. Helluva lucky break for me that my draft lottery number was 241.
December 6th, 2017 at 10:12 PM ^
I worked with a guy that said his 4 years in Vietnam were the best of his life. He was security for a colonel and colonels get to go places where regular GI don't get to go.
December 6th, 2017 at 3:45 PM ^
Because you, too, knew it was gratuitous?
December 6th, 2017 at 3:52 PM ^
Isn't a lot of what you say on this board gratuitous? Isn't a lot of what we all say..?
December 6th, 2017 at 4:11 PM ^
I love Mo as much as the next poster but a guy with a weird clown obsession that makes sex jokes 63% of the time is a little extra gratuitous imo
December 6th, 2017 at 5:26 PM ^
Hey, SCREW YOU MAN! I make sex jokes WAY MORE than 63% of the time, A-Hole!
December 6th, 2017 at 5:49 PM ^
First time I read that it was "A minus hole".
December 6th, 2017 at 6:06 PM ^
Was unremarkable.
December 6th, 2017 at 3:59 PM ^
no, because I'm not easily offended.
December 6th, 2017 at 4:03 PM ^
I'm not easily offended, but I thought that was an awful image to use.
December 6th, 2017 at 4:56 PM ^
Honest question: why?
It’s a famous picture. The self-immolation was done with the intention to shock and draw attention and make a point, so it’s not like it is an invasion of privacy or anything. And it was self-sacrifice in the furtherance of a perceived collective good, so I think it’s message is satirically applicable to the UT thing (burning yourself for a banal collective goal). It’s not particularly gory.
I don’t understand the sentiment of thinking it’s a terrible picture to use.
December 6th, 2017 at 4:44 PM ^
You knew calling it out would be the first comment, because you're not easily offended. Huh?
December 6th, 2017 at 3:12 PM ^
I don't think Brohm said no originally, I think the deal was done on his end but Tennessee Chancellor nixed it. I think.
Tennessee can hire almost anyone and it will be a more respectable hire than Herm Edwards though. Literally hire anyone who has either A) coached in college football at all in the last three decades, and preferably had some success, or B) had a successful NFL career. You can still not finish as the worst team in this coaching carousel, Tennessee!
December 6th, 2017 at 3:31 PM ^
I thought Brohm just used it to get more money. It also looks bad to jump to a new school so fast. Look at the grief people pile on Harbaugh for changing jobs and he stayed at USD and Stanford for 4 years, building foundations that have lasted before moving on. On the other hand, he may think that it will be hard to be a winner at Purdue so he should get while the getting is good.
December 6th, 2017 at 4:39 PM ^
That approach worked well for Todd Graham. Well, until he got fired and replaced by Herm Edwards...
Okay, how about Bobby Petrino, who jumped around from L'ville to Atlanta to Arkansas to L'ville... Okay, maybe another bad example.
December 6th, 2017 at 3:13 PM ^
hilarious.
December 6th, 2017 at 3:14 PM ^
It will be Tee Martin. I don't know what they are waiting for. I think he is the only one that is ok with stepping in the mess that Tennessee has made.
December 6th, 2017 at 4:05 PM ^
Seriously Tennessee, just hire Tee Martin already. It just makes sense.
December 6th, 2017 at 4:37 PM ^
we need a TENNESSEE MAN. He's basically a WR coach with a very little bit of OC'ing in. He's not ready to be a head coach at UT.
December 6th, 2017 at 3:14 PM ^
I almost didn't scroll past Rachel McAdams.
December 6th, 2017 at 3:16 PM ^
Has enough money to keep his buffalo wing freezer well stocked for the rest of his life. He should get the fuck away from Tennessee as fast as possible.
December 6th, 2017 at 3:23 PM ^
He can do better, at a great many locations. He has to put that shitshow in the rear view.
December 6th, 2017 at 3:40 PM ^
Hoke could probably do okay as the HC of a G5 team again, like another Ball State or SDSU gig. But he'll never get another shot at a job like Tennessee. Right now he's got decent odds of remaining the HC there for 2018 by default, either permanently or at least as a Luke Fickell year. He may as well stick around and see what happens. You never know--he could have another gold poop year like 2011 and parley that into a multi-year tenure. Even if he flops, he'd still have one more season of coaching major college football.
December 6th, 2017 at 3:47 PM ^
I don’t think he could turn Tennessee around, but he could recruit well enough to help the next guy. Tee Martin, maybe?
Maybe he’s the coach to keep the seat warm for the ex-QB who isn’t ready to return yet. Maybe that’s his thing.
December 6th, 2017 at 4:02 PM ^
Type coach? Hire a good OC and let him run the show. Hoke could focus on the things he's good at, recruiting, DL coaching, making BBQ.
I still think he got fucked by Brandon to some extent.
December 6th, 2017 at 4:50 PM ^
I thought only Arizona State was trying that dumb shit experiment.
December 6th, 2017 at 6:30 PM ^
Oh, except for the hire a good OC part. That could make a difference.
Hiring and managing his assistants seems to be one of Hoke's weaknesses.
December 6th, 2017 at 4:08 PM ^
He would just need the right OC that could recruit OL, QB, & RB
December 6th, 2017 at 4:45 PM ^
This was kind of my thought when Hoke was at M. But having gone through that, I am now very skeptical of the CEO head coach model because I don't think a head coach can consistently make good choices about assistants without a high degree of technical mastery himself.
That being said, Tennessee is pretty desparate--and one nice thing about Hoke is that he'll work cheap so you can spend more on high profile coordinators. Might be worth a shot.
December 6th, 2017 at 5:16 PM ^
Me too. I thought Hoke could do fine as a CEO, and I played and won a bunch for a CEO coach. I’m just not sure that’s still a viable model nowadays.
Then again, Harbaugh is an offensive coach whose teams have been defensive standouts, so who knows what works nowadays?
December 6th, 2017 at 7:39 PM ^
Hoke's former crew are all available otherwise.
December 6th, 2017 at 3:30 PM ^
Has enough money to keep MOST PEOPLE'S buffalo wing freezer well stocked for the rest of THEIR lives, BUT NOT HIS OWN. AS SUCH, EVEN THOUGH he should get the fuck away from Tennessee as fast as possible, HE PROBABLY WOULD TAKE THE JOB IN A HEARTBEAT.
