A Marty Mornhinweg sighting. He appears to be calling plays off a placemat from a diner.

It might very well be the same placemat he used when he was here in Detroit. We can only hope.

Go Ravens. I don't want the Lions even sniffing the playoffs. Their ceiling under Caldwell is barely getting in as a wildcard and getting beat in round 1.

I want Caldwell gone. I'm sick of his terrible game management. I'm sick of his unwarranted arrogance toward the Lion's beat writers. The guy acts like he's Bill Belichick and has won 5 Super Bowls, so his decisions can't be questioned. I'm sick of it.

in the 30+ years I've watched Lions, they've only shown any competitive fire three times (1991, which was the quintessential "Lightning in a Bottle" year and the only time we've ever had a good OL; 2011 and 2014, when they had the defenses but hadn't yet matured enough on offense, which really means they couldn't shorten games by grinding out first downs by running the ball). Both of those two latter campaigns were undone by roster deficiencies, not coaching. I like Caldwell too, and he's getting the most he can out of a team without a running game and a pass rush. But Quinn needs two more drafts to get those pieces, and that means two more 7-9/9-7 type years. Which just sucks. I prefer Schwartz's personality in a football coach, but there is no doubt Caldwell's personality is better aligned with the Ford family's corporate image. Again, things won't truly improve until there is ownership in place that treats the team as a Civic institution rather than a balance sheet.

I️’m in the camp whereas, I️ love all Michigan teams, literally. I️ have followed every professional team since I️ was knee high to a grasshopper. I️ understand some things about Caldwell and just because he is dry as a piece of corn-shucked doesn’t have anything to do with his coaching acumen. I️ just don’t see how anyone can say this as a true fan! I️ hope the Lions lose!!! Not the extra BS behind it, because that’s easily viewed as bias. There’s nothing a person can do about ones biases. Everyone is entitled to that but you aren’t a real fan if you claim you want them to lose; because I️ can’t stand Caldwell.

Disparaged a name. Are you sure what his real name is? It was not a jab at his name as much as someone’s biases would want the Lions to lose because of a Coaches demeanor.

Simple to see that. But your stance is simply funny because you’re offended by that. However, someone wanting my team to lose, is ok? Lol. I’ll do me you do you. A persons biases are quite evident when they open their chutes.

Caldwell is fat and happy with his new contract and this was the year Caldwell was suppose to win a playoff game but these lions will not even make it into the playoffs!

Sounds like a rally! And boy I️ don’t think some people ought to attend! We have people on here that have said,”I️ liked Schwartz, to I️ can’t stand Caldwell so much, I️ hope they lose out!” There’s nothing wrong with this picture! And some of you all are Michigan fans too? Whoo Boy!

Spielman is really good at his job.  The Lions are not.

For as good as Safford is in the 4th quarter when they aren't expected to win or when there aren't playoff expectations, he's equally bad whenever there's playoff pressure.  After a great start to the season, he's wilted down the stretch again...which is what he generally does unless the Lions are out of the playoff running.  This is a trend.

I turned around on Stafford over the past couple years but I'm going back on that belief again.  I'm pretty confident he'll never win a playoff game so why not blow this thing up and rebuild properly?  You aren't going to make this team a whole lot better with his contract.

I don't believe changing coaches will save this roster.  Caldwell isn't a great game manager but I don't believe any coach in the NFL would have the Lions contending.

Firstly, QBs are extremely hard to find. Stafford is one of the ten best in the league. He is not going anywhere. Secondly, you clearly do not watch the games. The Lions have a defense short on talent, a bad OL, and no running game. Blaming the late season swoons in Stafford is utterly ridiculous considering how talent poor the Lions are. The Lions are essentially in rebuild mode and have been since Mayhew got fired. Quinn is having to a filled a roster with a ton of holes. The defense in particular is lacking in talent. Quinn has spent a lot on the OL. The Lions need a new staff as I think this staff has run out of answers. Quinn needs to spend a ton of resources on the defense and add a few key pieces on offense.

However, a good friend of mine after years of pointing out his qualities. Definitely proved it to me. There are plenty of other teams that would love to have a Stafford. So, I️ conceded and I️ am very happy to have him on the good and the bad days. He’s a talent, with much less talent than other QB’s have around them, at this time! GO LIONS!
