Shea Patterson granted permission to explore transfer

Source is from Ole Miss's 247 site, also being reported by ESPN. Both sources saying Michigan is the favorite landing spot, but it's not guaranteed that he transfers.

From what I've seen if Patterson does transfer he would be required to either sit a year or apply for a waiver for immediately eligibility. It looks like the wheels are in motion.

This is getting exciting.  Im all for him coming if he can help us beat our rivals.  Get it done Harbaugh.

Harbaugh has had the most success with a transfer QB while at Michigan. I say let it happen again. Bottom line is the best QB will win, who ever that will be.

And if Shea does come to Michigan and delivers, Zingerman's should name a sandwich after him.

Just can't see him under center running power and play-action. That was the issue with JOK, just not tall enough and instincts are counter to Harbaugh's offense. My view is we need a QB who fits and gives the offense an identity, no more misfit transfers.

so from what you've seen he would EITHER have to sit out a year or apply for a waiver to play immediately. what other amazing propositions do you proffer? tomorrow it will rain or it will not. Alabama will win the national title or someone else will. I will shit once tomorrow or zero times. slight chance of two or more but unlikely.

The guy can’t play til ‘19. By then we have a RS Junior, a RS Soph, and one or two RS Frost. If this guy comes in we’ll lose someone transferring out and create doubt among future recruits that they’ll ever get a shot. Transfers at QB were needed when Harbaugh first arrived. Not anymore. Now a starting left tackle as a grad transfer for next fall might be a good idea.

This is the worst take on this situation possible and it makes me crazy reading it. 1) if he beats everyone out and someone transfers, who gives a shit? The best guy won the job, who cares where he came from? Would you rather the loser of the battle play? 2) Harbaugh isn’t going to recruit anyone that is afraid of competition. Also, are they future seers? How will they know as recruits if Harbaugh will bring in a transfer down the line? Also, if he does, it’s probably because said QB isn’t getting the job done.

UM has been shit at QB for so many years, yet some of you don’t want to take a top 5 player in the country as a recruit because it may make the not top 100 players in the country as recruits upset? It’s mind boggling.

As much as I like BP and DM, it would be great for Michigan to win Big 10 and maybe a natty next year tough schedule or not.  I hope Rashan stays for his senior year but there is no guarantee about that.  Next years defense should be elite.  Think it's just about Michigan's time.  If Shea Patterson makes Michigan football better I hope he comes.

A QB that can force opposing safeties and LB's further off the LOS into coverage is a valuable asset.  It makes the running game better and it all builds off that.  Still need a serviceable OL that can pass protect and hopefully we'll have that figured out soon.

Yes, I look forward to the time when Peters misses a couple of passes, and the entire stadium starts to chear for the guy on the bench.  Do we think Peters isn't really THE guy?

Enter, nightmare, confusion, and controversy.  Why not, we're used to it the last 10 f**king years.

Lol, i personally don't think Peters is the guy. Every time he gets touched he lays on the ground like he's hurt. I'm sure the concussion is legitimate, but players don't get hurt every time they get touched. He's not tough enough to play a whole season. He doesn't have the fire in him. If Patterson could play next year, he would start. If not, mccaffrey will start.

It seems like if you really want to punish programs that cheat, then the NCAA should allow existing players to leave without having to sit out a year. Ole Miss would be terrible for a few years b/c it would create a mass exodus of players.

Shea should be able to transfer without sitting out a year.

Greg Little would be perfect if possible.

If you had to choose from one of Patterson or Little, who do you take? Knowing full well the glaring need we have at LT?

I go with Little.
