Generally, I agree with this, and that's kind of what is so frustrating. We are very much on par with OSU, and we have been now for two seasons. Unfortunately, we only get one chance per year to play them, and only one chance every other year when we don't also have to beat the refs.

But wouldn’t it be way more depressing if we’re clear that we weren’t in the same league with them as many suggest. We’ve been so far down and they so far up yet it’s clear to me that they’ve NOT separated themselves from us but at QB.

Every year when they clearly outclass us we always hold out hope that a personnel change at the coaching or player level will save us. After 2008 we awaited Rich Rod's magical second year that never came. After 2010 we thought a second year starter Denard and an improved defense would be the key. 2011 we had hope in the new staff, and it actually went in our favor, and 2012 and 2013 were nail biters that we lost. After 2014 we thought Harbaugh was the Messiah. And yet here we sit. 1-13 against OSU since 2003. Name me a year where we actually thought OSU was clearly separated and that neither a coaching change nor another year of personnel progression could close the gap.

Ya know the previous 978 times this type of thread has been posted I was annoyed and thought it was unnecesary, over-done, cliche, lacked any real insight, etc. But now, this 979th time, you've convinced me! I'm all in!

The only thing worse than "THE SKY IS FALLING" people, are the people who overcompensate by proclaiming "IGNORE WHAT YOU SEE, THE SKY IS DEFINITELY NOT FALLING AND HERE IS SOME ANECDOTAL EVIDENCE FOR YOU".

I agree. Think of the last 10-15 years of our program. Two doofus coaches who at times brought us to the lowest points of our program. OSU has become a top 3 program in America and won NC's. Our own little brother has ascended to its program's zenith. Dave Brandon. MSU 2015. OSU 2016. OSU 2017. The Horror. Concussiongate. Stretchgate. OSU 2006. We have been bloodied and beaten and suffered in every way a sports fan can be punished. We have tasted the lowest of lows. And because of that, we are free. Once you are dead, you can never die again. Nobody can do to us (football wise) anything worse than has already happened to us. There really is nothing to fear. We have seen it all and are still standing.

And add to all of that - enter social media at the start of that downward spiral.  Somehow it makes it even worse when your MSU and OSU friends can rub it in your face even more constantly than ever before.  Used to be a phone call or a text after the game... now I get to see the U of M  "hands on the head" guy memes and other non-creative ways to poke fun at the program and our last decade of pain.

You've been here for eight years. That should have been long enough for you to know that sunny pep talks just two days after yet another bitter loss to our most important rival are going to go over like a radioactive lead balloon.

If you did recognize that and thought it was important to post your comment anyhow, fine. Just don't whine when it's not received the way you think it should be.

WTF?!!!

i haven't slep tfor the past 4 nights after seeing that shit.

Nothing to fear my ass.
