Tyler Friday (DT) Big CB to Michigan

Submitted by jbibiza on

Wiltfong Crystal Ball to Michigan for DT Tyler Friday following his official this weekend.

One of the top DTs on Michigan's board.

Any news on Shea Patterson?  We could use another QB.

This would be huge. Does anyone know if we are in on Anthony Bradford from Muskegon? And if not, why? He looked like an absolute beast in the state final.

Going to see a meaningful snap At Michigan. He could go to CMU and follow Shane - who had a fairly decent year against MAC competition.

It still gives him a minor chance at the next level if he becomes Drew Brees 2.0 in 2 years starting at a MAC school.

"One other roster item: source shared that Alex Malzone will graduate in 3+ years and will seek to become a grad transfer after the spring."

Also worth noting...

11 are eligible to return but doubt we see Mo Ways, Drake Harris, Ian Bunting, Jared Wangler & Lawrence Marshall. Likely earned themselves a 5th: Noah Furbush, Brandon Watson, Juwan Bushell-Beatty & Bryan Mone.

and the odd thing is, he actually blocked a lot better this year.  We played him for blocking but almost never sent him out in routes, which I thought was very odd.  McKeon and Gentry might be a little faster than him but Bunting appeared to be the better pass catcher from what we saw in earlier years (Gentry and McKeon had a decent number of drops/mistakes).

We just had too many TEs this year, all pretty good, none elite.

Marshall still has another year of eligibility? Jesus. Seems he's been here forever. Probably because his name kept coming up in practice hype his first couple years so I already thought he was a senior then.

Lots of early buzz about Andrew Stueber.

3 star, but a lot written about how the lack of competition in CT may have hrurt him in that regard. But if Filiaga is more a Guard than Tackle as I've read from some posters on here, have to wonder if there's a chance for this kid.

The only center on the roster next season is Ruiz.

There will be 9 tackles (accoding to the MGoDepthChart) next season. JBB, Newsome, Ulizio, Runyan, Stueber, Filiaga, Hudson, Mayfield, and Hayes. JBB may not be retained and Newsome might not be able to play. Those are the two seniors on next year's team. Petit-Frere pending.

There are 6 guards on next year's team, but those spots seem to be pretty well locked up by Bredeson and Onwenu. Behind them are Spanellis, Vastardis, Honigford, and Hall. Rumler is a 2019 guy.

I could see Filiaga moving inside, but will be get buried? I might actually try him at Center, which is (IMO) the most important line spot for Harbaugh's offense. He could spell Ruiz on some plays and could get 2 full years as a starter.

i know theyve repped spanellis at C which makes sense given roster composition.  and hes a smart, stout kid so wouldnt be at all shocked to see spanellis continue repping at C and OG.  if only to further examine what they have, plus i know they like rotating guys across the line when possible (ie bowl sessions, spring ball, camp).  never hurts to experiment.  maybe they end up liking ruiz more at OG and want to try others at C.  who knows.  but C is a huge spot
