Gus Johnson: Michigan Man?

Happy Thanksgiving My fellow Michiganders! I saw this video, and though it was pretty neat. I'm not too familiar with Gus, or most fox guys, but this is a cool video. Hopefully the link works! https://t.co/zVMGhsdTsE

Once Bo Schembechler told Gus that Bo knew who Gus was, and that the school is proud of him, I'd consider Gus "made".

I liked Gus Johnson a lot before I knew of his background as a Michigander and Wolverine fan.  I like him now even more.

(Thanks to the OP for posting this - great stuff.)

Really Gus much better an announcer at basketball.

Fits him better.

I'm sure he is thrilled to do M upset this week.

We have turned the announcing tide. No more buckeyes in the booth, bye Herbie and Spiel. No coincidence that the years we dominated were when it was Kieth Jackson and Bob Griese.

I have always enjoyed te enthusiasm Gus exhibits while calling games. Definitely moving him up in my commentator rankings now that I know he’s a Michigan fan.

with us Buckeyes as well. I'd heard before he is a Michigan guy, but he calls games straight down the middle, which is the mark of a good announcer (imo, of course). Herbie's ok, Spielman is fine, Galloway and Desmond both must have attended the Hawk Harrelson school of broadcasting.

I like Gus.  But I like Joel Klatt more.  I just hope Gus doesn't announce, at any point during the game, JT Barrett as "JOE...THOMAS...BARRETT!!!"  That would only mean that OSU just scored a game changing TD.

Holy shit, that was awesome!

Notice he takes off his hat when he walks into Harbaugh's office.

And putting the rose in Bo's statue's hand . . . he was going to tear up.

We finally have a Michigan - Ohio State game being called by a Wolverine and not some Buckeye.
