Shea Patterson attending The Game?

Submitted by Michigan9 on
Seeing the rumor Ole Miss QB Shea Patterson is visiting Michigan this weekend? Highly touted in 2016 and with Ols Miss penalties possibly being announced very soon, might be looking elsewhere. Also hearing penalties may allow transfers to play right away. I don’t know much about him. Someone we’d want?

He’s got a lot of talent. I remember him in the Army All-American game a couple years ago when he was slinging it all over the place. But I have a hard time believing that Harbaugh has any real intention of bringing him onto the roster.

Well let's be honest. We haven't been all that impressed with the QBs with Harbaugh here. So I'll take him and Eason to have the QB loaded so we aren't pissed with a backup like we are with Okorn. We need to have that position loaded so we are confident with someone going down. Now I'm not saying we will get both or one of them I'm jus saying. Having that position deep isn't a bad thing. So I wouldn't mind more talent there. I will add I'm impressed with peters. He's done well. Not great and I believe he can be very good for us.

I’ve actually heard similar rumors from people closer to him. Heard about I️t a few weeks back but wasn’t going to be the guy who says “a friend of a friend said X”. I️ guess we’ll just have to see how I️t plays out, but I️ think there is legitimacy to this.

Peters, McCaffrey, Speight, 2 new freshman AND a transfer? I know some people think Wilton might (should?) transfer but 6! QBs on the roster is a lot - even for Harbaugh.

We are one play away right now from Alex Malzone playing. And two plays away from either having to burn the redshirt on McCaffery or play a walk-on.

Speight

Peters

Patterson

McCaffery

As the playable depth chart would be within the realm of possibility.

Honestly I’m fine either way. Brandon Peters has looked good this season in his time thus far. Speight has also played plenty of good football last year, and if he’s coming back this season he’ll definitely be playing for his job. Rumors about McCaffrey indicate he’ll be pretty good soon.

If the staff wants to bring in Patterson, that’s totally fine. If not, Michigan will be fine as well.

That's not unreasonable. We have underperformed at that position this year, so we need all the help we can get. Most teams have 4 quarterbacks on scholarship I'd assume. Us having 6 is not that crazy, since we don't have any proven stars on the roster.
