Derrick Walton Jr. Makes G-League Debut

Submitted by God on
Yesterday, Walton Jr. made a splash in his G-League debut. Walton finished with 20 points on 7/14 shooting, 9 assists, 4 rebounds, and a not-so-pretty 6 turnovers in the Sioux Falls Skyforce’s 118-119 loss to the Austin Spurs. In the final 20 seconds of the game, the Skyforce had possesion up 118-117. As the shot clock wound down, Walton drove and missed a layup. He got his own rebound, and passed it out to a teammate who could have held on to the ball as the clock ran out. However, Walton’s teammate took a long floater, thinking the shot clock was still going. Austin rebounded and drove the ball down the court for a buzzer beater alley-oop. It was a tough loss, but hopefully Derrick will continue to deliver this kind of performance very often (minus the turnovers), and he could find himself on a full-time NBA roster soon.

OP, can you change your username? I think, given the no-politics rule, your name could stir up some trouble. At the very least, it can cause some unease. I can also see it leading to a flame war if you said something snarky and a poster takes exception. Love your posts, and I laugh at most of them. Call me a cuck or evil Republican (depending on your persuasion) but mostly I just don't want to see something stupid happen.

Dammit, I was in Austin from Friday until Tuesday night. I would have gladly postponed the drive up 35 back to the Metroplex to watch Derrick ball. I'm gonna have to look up the rematch.
