No game in ACC country. Damn you, Fox

Submitted by mooseman on

Last week, OSU/MSU was nowhere to be found. Looks like this week the classic matchup of Clemson vs The Citadel will keep the game off the air around here.

At least ESPN used to do that double triple reverse mirror coverage thing.

Step 1: Download an adblocker if you don't already have one. Ublock is a really good free one you can find by typing in "ublock download" into google or reddit search, if you don't have one.

15 min. before gametime go to Step 2: Go to reddit.com

Step 3: In the search bar, type in ncaa football streams, and click on the first group you see, should be at the top of the page and have a large amount of subscribers compared to the other ones

Step 4: Find UM vs Wiscy game and click on it

Step 5: Pick link that has 0 or 1 ad overlays. Some will ask you to disable adblock, which you shouldn't do unless you have done this before. In that case, move to the next one. With a game like this, there should be over 20 possible links. (They have # of ad overlays in text box underneath or next to link usually)

Step 6: Enjoy footbaww game

This is semi-legal, I feel like I should warn you about that, but I watch over 100 NBA/college basketball games a year and almost half of the michigan football games a year through reddit streams and as long as you have an adblock(I use ublock, the free version) you should only have 1-2 ad popups. You should try to ex them out ASAP and when another ad pops up just ex that out, no adblocker will get all of them usually. I have never experienced any issues later on my computer and am somewhat of a computer nerd so it's pretty trustworthy. I am sure plenty of the younger mgobloggers can corroborate this.

Anyways, this is something you can do to watch any live sporting event that you do not have on TV. If you have an HDMI cord anywhere in your house, you can connect your laptop to the TV and get the game in HD on your big screen.

Hope this works for you or you find another way to watch it.

I do not miss the days of frantically looking at coverage maps and figuring out which channel the game is on. UofM games should ALWAYS be televised.

Monday my DirecTV guide said "College Football" nothing more.  It shows up as Mich vs Wisc now, so I doubt they'll change it here.  I scheduled to record also.

These non-conference P5 schedules this late in the season are a joke. It's like two bye weeks the 2nd being right before the home stretch. BS

The buckeyes have a bye too playing Illinois. Without looking at past schedules it seems like we always have a tough game the week before we play them while they seem to always get a big ten bottom feeder the week before us. I could be wrong bc my hate for Ohio state sometimes blinds me from experiencing true reality.

Step 1. Download uBlock Origin

Step 2. Go to bosscast.net

Step 3. Find link for game, this may be easier if you adjust the timezone at the top of the schedule page. Or just Ctrl+f.

Personal note: I have found bosscast to be the most reliable of the streaming sites I've used over the years. Even with uBlock I do still sometimes have popups to close. Also make sure any anti-virus software you're running is up to date. I've never had any problems.

Well, I will be serving Thanksgiving meal one of three during the game (lots of family that can never be in town at the same time, damnit), so I will make sure that we can get more food to serve folks who want to travel to Michigan for a game that is in Wisconsin.

Yeah, it doesn't make sense to me either.

There was a thread here on Monday about this, sounds like a local affiliate issue and not FOX

Apparently, due to old Raycom/ACC Network contracts the local FOX station here in Central NC will be broadcasting The Citadel-Clemson at noon instead of the Michigan-Wisconsin game. As best I can tell, the game will only be broadcast on the Fox Sports Go app, as this is an affiliate issue and not a FOX issue.

Important to note that you should download uBlock Origin, not just uBlock. The project forked a couple of years ago and the orginal author is in control of the uBlock Origin product. I think most searches will point you to uBlock Origin, but just be careful...

I am headed to Louisville for the weekend and am afraid we will have trouble watching the UM-Wisconsin game on Saturday.

I checked prior threads to see if there is a "UM bar" but it appears there isn't one.  If someone wants to correct that notion I am all ears.

WJZY, Fox 46, in Charlotte will have the Michigan game. So does WTAT, 24 in Charleston, SC. And WRLH, Fox 35 in Richmond, VA. WTECDT in Tallahassee, FL too..,.seems like there’s plenty of coverage in ACC country.
