Hoke interim?
November 12th, 2017 at 12:06 PM ^
Hoke is indeed the interm. Confirmed by ESPN
November 12th, 2017 at 12:10 PM ^
He may be aware that he is the interim coach, but is he fully aware???
Seriously, hope he does well in these next 2, hopefully 3, games and gets a crack at the job.
November 12th, 2017 at 12:15 PM ^
The ultimate Tennessee move. Barely credible but cheap.
November 12th, 2017 at 12:25 PM ^
Even though he was not the answer here, life is a learning experience. I hope he learned, has improved and does well. He was always a good person, but he certainly did not develop players.
November 12th, 2017 at 1:32 PM ^
I wonder if he would have walked there.
November 12th, 2017 at 1:50 PM ^
Serious question here, meant with absolutely no snark. Do you consider keeping Shane Morris in as a "good man making an ignorant decision"? I have a hard time believing he's a "good man" after that, everyone else on the whole planet knew, how did Hoke not?
November 12th, 2017 at 2:16 PM ^
Even good men make mistakes. Nobody is perfect.
November 12th, 2017 at 3:27 PM ^
I am.
November 13th, 2017 at 12:32 AM ^
Hoke kept Morris in because he was, at times, comically unaware of what was going on with specific aspects of his football team. He was not intentionally trying to injure him.
November 13th, 2017 at 7:32 AM ^
I never said he was intentionally trying to injure him. I was merely asking if the poster thought it was intentional negligence or negligence due to ignorance. You obviously thought itw as the latter. No reason to get worked up, buddy.
November 13th, 2017 at 2:24 PM ^
Im looking through his comment and cannot find where he got "worked up"
November 12th, 2017 at 4:38 PM ^
hoke starting to be a harbinger of death, two straight years hired on while the ship is sinking. Wanna bet he gets a job at LSU, maybe TAM?
November 13th, 2017 at 9:52 AM ^
not sure having Hoke at the HC is any better then just keeping Jones there until the end of the season.
November 12th, 2017 at 12:07 PM ^
Can confirm reports that Tennessee has fired Butch Jones and Brady Hoke will serve as interim coach remainder of the season.

Hoke vs Cajun Hoke is this Saturday!
November 12th, 2017 at 12:23 PM ^
Sure is everything!
November 12th, 2017 at 12:53 PM ^
I hope Real Hoke wins. That would be cool.
November 12th, 2017 at 10:00 PM ^
I've always been partial to Hoke clear. Although the real sugar Hoke is good too.

That is an all-time comment, right there. Bravo! Laughed out loud, my wife laughed at me for laughing out loud, showed her your comment and she laughed out loud. Seriously, just go find an Ed O video. Wow!
November 12th, 2017 at 1:33 PM ^
Excuse me. Mark Dantonio says hello. Disrespekt!
November 12th, 2017 at 12:02 PM ^
They will probably hire Greg Schiano. That would be so Tennessee.
November 12th, 2017 at 12:12 PM ^
To Iowa sounds like sufficient qualification. Then again, maybe Kevin Wilson. He hung 49 on the Spartans.
November 12th, 2017 at 12:21 PM ^
To be fair, his defense only gave up 48.
November 12th, 2017 at 12:02 PM ^
Now he has to endure the millions he will earn while doing nothing.
November 12th, 2017 at 12:09 PM ^
The life of a football coach after getting fired is certainly difficult once you hit D1 level. Sit home and collect multiple millions of dollars.
Unfortunately for them, more often than not, they have sacrificed a home and family life to have a successful career, so being home can actually be awful.
Don't like him, but I wish him luck
November 12th, 2017 at 9:05 PM ^
Oh boo hoo. We all have struggles, most for much less $ but just as much time and stress.
November 12th, 2017 at 12:11 PM ^
He played a player who had a concussion. Everyone could see it. He isn’t going to get his buyout.
November 12th, 2017 at 12:18 PM ^
he doesn't deserve his buyout. isn't this the same dude who allegedly allowed the team to whoop a team mates ass for reporting a rape by a team mate?
November 12th, 2017 at 2:21 PM ^
He also said that player betrayed the team in doing so.
November 12th, 2017 at 12:20 PM ^
The next logical step is to make the guy who's done the same thing the interim coach.
November 12th, 2017 at 12:59 PM ^
ZING!
November 12th, 2017 at 12:39 PM ^
Hoke did the same thing and got paid...
November 12th, 2017 at 1:29 PM ^
Hoke’s buyout was 3 million. Jones is owed 14 million.
November 12th, 2017 at 9:08 PM ^
He will get his money.
November 12th, 2017 at 1:39 PM ^
I didn't see that, but if true, he should have been fired as soon as it happened. Just like Hoke at UofM, once Morris went back in, he needed to be done. Knowing what we now know, concussions are potentially far more serious than the 70s 80s and 90s would lead us to believe.

Outrage over Hoke’s poor but, i doubt malicious, judgement, rings hollow as we continue to be passionate about a sport as fans where concussions are common place
November 12th, 2017 at 10:30 PM ^
To your point, Ed Cunningham is probably the most ethical person associated with the whole thing. He built his career on the sport and walked away after coming to grips on how unsafe it is. Too bad that kind of conviction is so rare these days.
November 12th, 2017 at 12:04 PM ^
He's available to tiurn a bad situation into a disaster.
November 12th, 2017 at 3:29 PM ^
Even for Tennessee.

Commence Gruden rumors!
November 12th, 2017 at 12:11 PM ^
Can I get a Chip Kelly.
November 12th, 2017 at 12:13 PM ^
Or Grumors
November 12th, 2017 at 5:17 PM ^
Tennessee would offer Gruden $10 million per.
