Christian LeMay to Georgia

Submitted by jerseyblue on

4* QB Christian LeMay committed to Georgia according to Scout. We had offered. I'm actually glad. With only 14 or so spots in this class I'd rather not get a QB. i think it can wait until next year regardless if Devin redshirts or not(I hope he does).

I also wouldn't mind seeing us avoid the QB position in 2011. After taking four in the past two years, I don't think we have to worry about violating the "take a QB every year" rule.

I highly doubt we land a top rated QB. Most likely a project QB or someone who could play another position like C. Jones. And I'll bet big bucks that we end up with more than 14 schollies.

I don't see a top rated QB coming here this year.  With two sophomores , Tate and Denard competing for the starting spot, along with 2 more kids ( Gardner and Jones) just coming in this year,  top rated QB's aren't probably going to be looking at Michigan that much.

With a relatively low # of spots this year I doubt UM tries to pick up more than one QB.

Why do you say we'll have more than 14 schollies?

and while it was known he was announcing today, Dawg fans around here certainly didn't assume he was choosing Georgia (at least not the ones I know).

With Mettenberger getting booted off the team this spring and Logan Gray considering transferring, LeMay's opportunity to play early is probably as good in Athens as it is nearly anywhere.  Aaron Murray, RS freshaman, is the starter coming out of spring. If Gray leaves, UGA will only have an incoming freshman as back up.  Two scholarship QBs total roster, neither with experience, and one 10 weeks out of high school. Who'd have thought another big brand program would have youth and depth issues at QB as bad as Michigan's in '08 and '09.

across the intrawebs have been calling him to GA. Not like I expect everyone to be aware of that, but I was also puzzled as to why there is a thread about a Nefarious Eduardo not labeled OT. We had no chance at him, what's the point? This isn't a Dawg board. (Not a diss to your informative post, rather a rant about the negative feedback, continue negging.)

people thought Michigan had a shot, but there was the Jamar Adams, Butler NC connection, I guess, so maybe some embers of hope. As for the post, slow news season an all, so okay by me. At least it's college football related and I don't really keep up on other schools' recruiting much.

I always thought Florida was his favorite but I understand whey he would want to go to Georgia, they don't have much depth at quarterback anymore.

Even though it wasnt the biggest reason, does anyone else think it's more than just a coincidence that Richt dismissed that highly rated freshman QB from the team a few weeks before this kid committed????

I'm still holding out hope that we can land this kid...

...but I read recently that many people think he'll stay in the south, possibly taking over for Mallet when he's finished at Arkansas.

Would be nice though. He's got all the measurables and put up monster number his junior season.

His website says he's got a 3.8 GPA and plans to major in Business, so who knows...maybe the Ross School is in his future.
