Wisconsin leading receiver Quintez Cephus out for year: LB Chris Orr out vs Iowa

Submitted by Bambi on

Wisconsin's leading receiver sophomore Quintez Cephus has been announced to be out for the year. Cephus took over the top spot when the two guys who were thought to be the top 2 options coming into the season, seniors Jazz Peavy and George Rushing, failed to produce. Rushing hasn't played all year and Peavy has 5 catches for 55 yards this year and hasn't played since 10/7 against Nebraska. Cephus has 30 catches for 501 yards and 6 TDs.

Also out for the game against Iowa is LB Chris Orr. He missed the game last week against Indiana as well. He has 35 tackles, 2 sacks and a pick in 8 games this year. Wisconsin is missing LBs Jack Cichy, Zach Baun and Mason Stokke (all out for year) as well. *To clarify, all have been out for year since before the season started.

Star safety D'Cota Dixon is listed as questionable for this week.

Top 10 for sure. Playoff team? No. But Paul Chryst does very well with the talent level that he has.

They may have a few injuries, but playing on the road has been a weak link for this team for years. And Camp Randall is probably the third toughest place to play in the conference behind Beaver and the Horseshoe. Wisconsin is going to make Michigan earn everything it gets.

Especially since it will maybe be their biggest game of the year. They desperately need wins against ranked opponents. I think we'll be in the top 25 next week. I think Iowa is ranked this week but they will need a big victory against us to impress voters.

They certainly have been bitten by the injury bug pretty hard, but we have to play our A game to beat them in Madison.

If Michigan gets above average QB play they can beat anyone. Of course we need recievers to step up also. We will see how the passing game progresses, but we are trending in the right direction and I take our defense over anyones.

While clearly slowing Wisconsin's rushing attack to a crawl will be huge, as people have said, this is going to be one of those games that, even if we win it, we're probably going to be sitting there - either at home or in the stadium - locked into every little thing happening because it will definitely not be easy to do. I had this game as a "push" in my initial prediction for the year, and I still kind of feel that way even with this news.

I think the fan base would feel much better about a 9 win regular season. But, regardless of who's out, they will test us offensively. We're gonna have to throw and pass pro to win at times. I think we'll be in the game with a chance to win, but I don't assume by any stretch of the imagination that a win in Madison with a young team will be easy. Gonna have to earn it in a dog fight.

I think UW will prove to be legit good defensively, like last year. But not the offense - thinking that the pass game will let them down. Again, similar to last year.

So, two good rushing offenses with no passing ability, against really good rushing defenses. This game should be a barn burner!!

We want you to play a rising group of stars. We want you indefensible. Get your team healthy and let's not count on the weather to influence.
