World Series Game 7 Open Thread

Best two words in sports: Game Seven. The last game of the year pits the American League Champion Houston Astros (101-61) at your National League Champion Los Angeles Dodgers (104-58). This is the first World Series since 1970 (Reds-Orioles) and the first postseason series since 1977 (Yankees-Royals) to feature two 100 win teams!
The franchises have slighty different histories...
Houston is looking for its first World Series title in history. Established in 1962 the Astros have two pennants. This year, of course, and in 2005 while a member of the NL.
One of the most storied teams in all of sports the Dodgers are looking for their 7th World Series crown and first since 1988. Founded in Brooklyn in 1884(!) the then Brooklyn Athletics called New York home through the 1957 season. In Brooklyn the franchise amassed 1 AA pennant (?), 12 NL pennants, and 1 World Championship. After the move to the west coast the Dodgers have won 10 NL crowns and 5 titles. 22 total pennants. 6 championships. Not bad.
The 2017 World Series has been one of the best ever, featuring two extra inning games already. 22 home runs have been hit thus far (a ws record) and game 2 featured 8 hrs (a WS record). Game 5 was one of the craziest baseball games in history. The balls are juiced and they're flying all over the place!
I don't have a dog in the fight. Was hoping the series would go 7, and here we are! Slight rooting interest for the Astros. Hopefully they can pull a '13 Red Sox (marathon bombing) as a team of destiny and bring some happiness to a ravaged Houston. Also...JV!

Looks like Houston's year. Glad to see Verlander get a ring (too bad it wasn't with Tigers). Class act. I like teams built on drafting and getting a few vets.

is their plan on stockpiling with blue chip prospects didn't go the way they planned. They got lucky with Jose Altuve and stumbled on him when he insisted on trying out. Kuechel wasn't supposed to be their ace(it was supposed to be Appel).
Astros tanked for years so they can bottom out then rebuild from there. Their process worked and was rewarded with a WS ring.

Greatest prognostication ever. Predicted the World Series winner 3 years in advance, after the Astros went 51-111 the previous season. And their June 30, 2014 coverboy, George Springer, hits the 2-run homer tonight. Wow.

As a long-time Red Sox fan, despite having some relatives and friends who are Dodgers Fans, it wasn't too hard for me to root for the Astros in this year's World Series. For the city of Houston, this championship is . . .

Nice managing by Hinch in this game, McCullers was incredibly wild and he pulled him at the right time and pieced the bullpen well enough to close it out. Morton's stuff tonight was electric, curveball that dropped off the table and a riding fastball at 96+ simply electric. Congrats to JV and the Astros!

Nice to finally see a manager who understands how to manage pitchers.
Living in Chicago, I get WAY too much Joe Maddon incompetence. When a pitcher is on, ride him. Morton was killing it last night, but I was sure they were going to the pen when he was scheduled to hit in the 9th. I'm glad to see that a manager that understands that the opportunity cost of a pitcher hitting is far less than the benefit of rolling with a pitcher who is dialed in.

I was pulling for the Astros because of JV. Really happy to see him get the ring, but it was bitter sweet seeing him holding up the trophy and not wearing an old english D. I had not expected the bitter portion ahead of time.
