Iowa state beats their second top 5 team in the month of October. Matt Campbell should win coach of the year. Whens the last time we beat two top 5 teams in a year? I can't even remember.

Allegedly, they're negotiating now, although the University denies it.

The definition of "cause" in his contract includes "dishonesty...that may adversely reflect on and/or affect the reputation, mission and/or interests of the University and/or the [University Athletic] Association."

Did his alleged lies about the alleged death threats from fans/boosters adversely affect the reputation of the boosters' association? They at least have something to argue--I don't think it would simply be tossed (not that there's any real chance this will ever make it to court).

  1. 2005 Penn State
  2. 1998 Wisconsin
  3. 1996 Ohio State
  4. 1988 Rose Bowl
  5. 1978 Notre Dame
  6. 1976 Ohio State
  7. 1963 Illinois
  8. 1956 Iowa
  9. 1955 Michigan State
  10. 1948 Northwestern

That's all of them since WW2.

The current drought isn't unprecedented. Nobody has a lot of these; great teams don't lose many games.

Wisconsin was 10, Penn St. 9.

Among the losses Ohio St. was 6, Florida St. 3

But if Michigan had won the bowl game I'm guessing FSU would have dropped out of the top 5. Margins were thin in that part of the table--the gap from Clemson and Alabama down to FSU was about the same as the gap from FSU down to #25.

Didnt OSU get into the CFP despite not even going to the B1G championship? If PSU runs the table, misses the B1G title game because OSU wins the east, and there are several 2-loss conference champions them theoretically they could slide in as a 4. Only way theyre out is to lose anothe regular season game which probably wont happen
