PERFECT, BECAUSE THEY FINALLY PUT PETERS IN!!!
October 28th, 2017 at 3:37 PM ^
Not only that, at one point it felt like watching the future with Nico Collins, Kareem Walker and Brandon Peters all playing at the same time.

Speaking of Walker... any injury update on him?

Because the Michigan community is brutal on the QB? (half serious)
Maybe Harbaugh was playing 4D chess, trolling the MGoCommunity, and setting Peters up for success.

After seeing O'Korn and his escapability at Purdue, keeping plays going, making some throws, general mobility...I thought he was the answer.
Wrong.
Let's Go Blue. Win Out. Spoil OSU as much as possible. Get to New Year's.

Not happy with the FG attempt out of the Rutgers TO and not just because we missed, but it's really nice that this is what we have to complain about.
October 28th, 2017 at 4:05 PM ^
And why no FG attempt late? Is something wrong with Nordin? Just trying to spend more time? It was from like the 28.....
October 28th, 2017 at 6:38 PM ^
I think no FG attempt late because they wanted to be able to kill the clock after conversion - also may be something to say about giving Peters experience on 4th down.

Also seemingly apparent - Brandon Peters better in game situations than O’Korn.
I get that O’Korn might have looked better in practice; I get that Peters’ demeanor may not be what the coaches see as ideal; I get that - given those 2 facts - Harbaugh may have wanted to reward his RS SR transfer QB that could have left in the off-season. JOK opened the door for Peters with his play today and probably saw the end of his meaningful snaps at M.

Doing it when it counts is what separates being a champion from merely being talented.
Peters was doing it when it counted. O'Korn was not.
Practice be damned.

The redshirt freshman is more likely to improve than the redshirt senior, but yeah it's a little early to be declaring Peters the savior.

before we decide whether or not to get the pitch forks out. If he leads us to wins against Minny and Maryland and a W against Wisconsin and/or OSU, this season is gonna turn into a big what-if.
That being said, this could also very easily just be a Purdue O'Korn type of performance. He had a couple dump off passes that seemed like a revelation because neither Speight nor O'Korn made them this season. He made decisive reads. But they were also really easy, and he had 1 bad read that should have been picked off, and 1 bad throw on the run that should have been a big play, probably a TD. We should all pump the breaks as hard as possible at this point.

That's why right now is the best stretch to throw him in the fire. We've got several winnable games coming up to build some confidence before a big test.

That's reasonable as far as this year, but regardless, given how bad O'Korn was it is likely that Peters will be as good as his 3 YPA or whatever he's put up since Purdue. Plus O'Korn had what, 2 fumbles and an INT in like 6 passes and a dozen handoffs or something? Can't turn the ball over like that, especially with our defense. And Peters at least has the potential to improve and be an important piece the future, whereas O'Korn is about done.
October 28th, 2017 at 8:44 PM ^
Problem solved!
In all seriousness, I agree with you. Peters looked very good but it was Rutgers. Rutgers is admittedly improved over last year but I'm going to wait a few games before I start building a shrine for Peters.

There is no excuse for having given JOK so much rope IMO -- he's terrible. I found myself pining away for Stephen Threet!

Smart staff either way. Looked a lot smarter with a QB who could see the field well. Allowed them to open up the play book a bit.

Glad somebody pointed the 4th down call out; what a great play call. If Peters doesn't short arm the throw, they probably score.

the QB half way through the first quarter every game. Seems to really light up the offense...
October 28th, 2017 at 8:09 PM ^
Yep. But Peters will eventually catch on so we're also going to have to invent a machine that erases memory to "reset" him every week.
