Went to see the Wings last Friday...gotta say I was blown away by the LCA.  This facility has no bad seats and is first class...they did a helluva job.  The upper level seats are a tight fit for those of us over 6 feet (leg room wise).

They put on a great pregame show there and it's just a great game environment.

Heading there next Thursday for the first time. Not saying I'm old but it's a Guns N Roses concert since I didn't make it to one of theirs back in the day. Looking forward to seeing how it looks.

One of my best friends was the project manager on that and he was freaking out about it not being ready leading up to it. He said he had nightmares about condensation on the floor for a Pistons game and them all slipping and sliding. Haha. I guess it all worked out though.

getting gil perrault's autograph at the olympia.  for the younger hockey fans here, that was like, 45 yrs ago.  he was injured and didn't play that night.  the olympia was the coolest venue for hockey with only the montreal forum, maple leaf gardens, and possibly the boston gardens in the same league.  so much history.

notice the boards and ice... no [expletive] ads except for the public service announcement of 'united way'

here's one with uncle gordie at the olympia.  notice everyone is kind of dressed up even in this photo which says its from 1971

and some signif wind but no damage.  now 35 degrees and raining.  very glad to have large 4WD van to drive when our unpaved country roads get soaked.  was downstate first thing this morning and the high was ~46 degrees. after two extra months of summer, fall is finally here.  time to start grouse hunting now that the leaves are getting off the trees.

saw that MQT was in a non-stop swirling rain pattern all day.  just talked to a buddy up there.  love the UP, always will.

EDIT:  mgowife just showed me video of the bonehead that got swept off presque isle park rocks today. 2 others swept in and still looking for them - they are dead no doubt.  wild looking lake superior waves.  big water!

That second photo in the OP's post....that might have been about what I had in the second half of the game this past Saturday. I can't recall precisely how much it might have been for various reasons.
