exercises that monied people caught red-handed are counseled by their agents to engage in. Throw up a smoke screen, cry foul, and retain a portion of the affection of a gullible public. . . maybe some of your endorsements and tie-ins. Examine the fine print for minor errors to magnify as major ones.

But seriously, this guy really is the worst.

All I see this as is Pitino isn't getting another dime from Louisville, so he'll try and see if Adidas will give him a million bucks to go away.

Right. I agree with what you said here. Louisville has too much evidence for just cause for the firing. I think he hopes that Adidas would want to settle. Rumor is that Pitino immediately put his house for sale as soon as he was placed on admin leave which tells me he's getting ready to run if the rumor is true. Someone who is innocent wouldn't be ready to run for the hills.

Don't know about the merits of the lawsuit, however, the guy obviously has no shame.  He is dirty and he knows it.  Nevertheless, he would rather put everyone through protracted litigation than simply walk away with all his ill-gotten gains.  An big, giant sleaze.

If the facts are with you argue the facts.

If the facts are against you argue the law.

If the facts and the law are against you pound the table and yell.

Which category do you suppose Pitino resides??

Sorry, don't know how to make those beautiful quote boxes:

"I never have had any part -- active, passive, or through willful ignorance -- in any effort, successful or unsuccessful, completed or abandoned, to pay any recruit, or any family member of a recruit, or anyone else on a recruit's behalf, as an inducement to attend UL."
