I always hate seeing athletes end their careers with more confidence in their abilities than they should. Add his Saints jersey to Randy Moss' Titans jersey and Jerry Rice's Broncos to the bin of "Oh yeah, he played there."

I actually think this is a good move for both parties. He can probably play in Arizona (though he won't be a star), and New Orleans can run with Ingram and Kamara, who fit their system better.

I am no fan of AP - since the details emerged about how he abused his son, I really dislike him - but the guy should have retired before last season.  He is a shell of his former self, and while he will go down as one of the great RB of his generation, he is really going out at a low point.

Stinks how AP's year has gone thus far. I drafted him on my fantasy team thinking that history has shown whenever AP comes back from an injury, he comes back with a vengeance. But he may be at a point where it's time to hang up the pads.

I can see why the Cardinals took a chance on him, probably thinking that maybe this is the place where he can revive his career. If he's even half as good as he used to be, he can be a huge asset to them. But this may be the last season we see All Day suit up in the NFL.

as the Saints played the Vikings in the season opener, you could just tell that Peterson wasn't long for the Saints. I mean he was in the ear of anyone who would listent that he ought to be carrying the ball on every run play. I think he got 6 carries in that game against his old team. The NFL has a way of grinding up the best and not offering much solace on the way out no matter what a guy thinks he has left in the tank. And it's really hard when you've been a star at every level.

And so for the guys that leave the game on their own accord, I give much respect even if  we miss their work on the field. It says more about us than them.

And for Peterson. Arizona has nothing to loose and everything to gain. Peterson w get to run and see what's left in the tank. His 3-4 carries a game is not a great way to view how his skill set is. Same w Charles. Once he gets 10 plus carries we will know.
