One positive about tonight, the fans brought it

Submitted by UMxWolverines on
Being at the game, one thing that makes me feel a bit better is how well the crowd brought it when the team was on defense. Maybe the most consistently loud I've ever heard it. The false start counter on the scoreboard was also a nice touch. I'll say this, at least it was a fun and loud atmosphere for a crowd that's not known as the loudest out there. More night games please.

When it started pouring and the defense was on the field, getting everybody hype, that was awesome. And then the offense came back out and went 3 and out and ruined it.

thats great, we need to win football games. the atmosphere SHOULD be like that for a primetime game against a rival.... anything different would be embarrassing, just like the offense

Let's keep it up and put a lid on booing during future home games.  These are formative times for our young players, so let's give them a fan base to appreciate and be inspired by.  However they may struggle in upcoming games, they don't need to be booed.

Yeah, the O sucked and we lost.  It happens, and except for '97 we lose games every year.  Yes, it was MSU again, take a breath and grow a pair.  There is nothing wrong the OP noting that the crowd was outstanding.  It was outstanding.  We lost.  They're not mutually exclusive and you're not the boss. So STFU and let other M fans note other things.  Or maybe you'd prefer to just keep reading about how bad the offense is.  Whatever.

No, the crowd was there and given what they were witnessing and experiencing (a monsoon) it was surprising. I’ve been going to the big house for nearly 50 years and this was one of the most enthusiastic crowds ever.

was completely electric. A world of difference from the usual tea sipping and polite golf-clapping crowd I'm more used to in Michigan Stadium.

The at atmosphere was awesome. If we connect on that Hail Mary it would have been an all time classic. Now even if we do win the game on the last play we still have to face the fact this offense is awful right now. Dantonio was content to punt the ball every drive up 4 for the last 20 minutes. Yes the weather was a huge factor, but when someone feels confident that a 4 point lead for 20 minutes you have problems.

I feel bad for these fucking kids these days.

Hell I used to be mad in the early/mid 2000s when we lost a game, and we actually won the conference and beat msu all the time.

All these kids have seen lately is fucking garbage.

People get on me for being a jackass and too quick with the hot takes, but yes I’ve only ever witnessed 2 wins over MSU and 1 over OSU (barely even counts they sucked under Fick).

Now if we’re talking ND I can say I witnessed a solid 4 Ws before the shut out abomination that tonight was all too similar too.

I’m glad someone created this thread because I thought the same thing. The fans showed up, and stayed even in a monsoon, when the offense was terrible. That was the worst weather I’ve ever sat through that was above 40 degrees in 30 years of going and hardly anyone left! If only the o line showed up the way the fans did!

Not where I was sitting. Section 39 was the only section sitting in the whole stadium. Old dude behind me asked me and my dad to sit down at some point in the 4th quarter. I looked back at him and said "you do realize we are the only section that's sitting, right?" Grouchy lady next to him made some snarky comment about the section next to us. Think I'm gonna transfer my seats next year.

Are you closer to the field? If say from about row 50 on up everyone sat just about the entire game. This seems to be the case for just about every game. I'd been hoping it would change for the bigger games but nope.

I'm in 39 higher up and can confirm they are mostly terrible sitters. Yesterday I even got yelled at for standing during the halftime show, which is usually the only time I get to straighten my back out for more than a couple minutes.

Also, I have the worst row in the history of football. I'm on the aisle and I put up with a constant stream of people coming and going all game. Doesn't matter if it is during play or not. Many of them are usually plenty late for kickoff too; I even commented to my dad how shocked I was the whole row seemed to be present for kickoff.

What amazes me is that even with the whiny fanbase Michigan has, 110,000+ stayed for the monsoon without the bat of an eye, and yet the team doesn’t react AT ALL or get pumped up from that.

They were upset about booing weeks ago, and now here we are in a heavy rainstorm cheering for them hard, even with them not looking that good, and yet they can’t produce on that stage.

#millenials? Jk.
I still love the team and will wait for our national championship turn. When Harbaugh came to Michigan I guessed 2018 would be our year. Hope that’s accurate...
