OT-Justin Fields to Georgia
Worth nothing that the #1 overall player in this class is heading to Georgia. Have to think that Eason or Fromm will transfer in the next calendar year. Glad Fields is not going to PSU, and hope we get to play Georgia in the near future in the playoff......

Georgia might be the team to dethrone Bama in the SEC here in a few years.
October 6th, 2017 at 11:17 AM ^
promptly get caught for paying recruits!
October 6th, 2017 at 12:53 PM ^
when Georgia gets great. At least that's what was alleged here recently.
October 6th, 2017 at 3:18 PM ^
Geez, Georga State or Grambling better watch out. The NCAA will come down hard on them for this one.
October 6th, 2017 at 5:48 PM ^
Yeah, something fishy is definitely going on with them. Hopefully this basketball investigation leads to something on the football side, and they get caught.
October 6th, 2017 at 11:24 AM ^
Georgia will always be an "oh so close" team.
October 6th, 2017 at 11:51 AM ^
Kirby Smart is the most Saban/Dabo type coach that has left Bama. He's not a top 5 coach in the country, but he's climbing pretty damn quickly and the guys they're getting at UGA are Bama type guys.
Clemson was the same way..."Clemsoning" is what they called it. Dabo kept building, now his defense is routinely filthy, his offense is dangerous and they're the defending national champions.
That said there is ZERO percent chance Fromm transfers. He's having one hell of a year.
Eason on the other hand...come on down! He'd pretty damn good as well. That said, I bet he transfers back home to Washington and plays for Chris Petersen and takes over for Jake Browning after sitting a year.
October 6th, 2017 at 12:11 PM ^
As long as Hurt is at bama, georgia will not be beating them. He is the real deal and can't wait for Brent Musburger to tell us what he thinks of his girlfriend.
October 6th, 2017 at 1:05 PM ^
"He really out kicked his coverage on her"... "But Brent, he's a quarterback. He doesn't kick". "I don't care! Rrrrrrrrr rrrrrrr".
October 6th, 2017 at 12:23 PM ^
I think Peterson has 2 five star QB in this recruiting class.
October 6th, 2017 at 2:16 PM ^
with this one.
October 6th, 2017 at 11:37 AM ^
Only if Bama players start getting checked for steroids.
But I'm all for the Tide being dethroned by SOMEBODY.
October 6th, 2017 at 12:16 PM ^
SOMEBODY outside the SEC preferably. Living in those parts can be brutal listening to them all the time boast about their conference.
October 6th, 2017 at 1:37 PM ^
I'm all for Michigan dethrowning Bama as the perennial champ. If Don Brown is here for 5-6 years and Harbuagh figures out offense (within his capabilities), we have a very bright future.
October 6th, 2017 at 8:39 PM ^
considering the lack of depth/injuries/misses on the recruiting trail, Coaches Harbaugh & Drevno have done an amazing job. With the addition of Coach Frey, it's not if the offense gets figured out, but when.

It’d be Xmas all year long!
October 6th, 2017 at 4:47 PM ^
Waiting for Michigan’s 2018 class to get going....
October 6th, 2017 at 11:14 AM ^
Eason is more likely to. Fromm is a Georgia-boy. Something like walking cross country, blah blah blah...
October 6th, 2017 at 11:24 AM ^
Eason is more likely to because Fromm Wally Pipp'd the job away. I can't see Smart choosing to willingly bench Fromm at this point. I'm more surprised that Fields would commit to UGA with a true freshman running the show, since that likely means that, barring injury, Fields is sitting on the bench for at least two years. In all honesty, PSU would have made more sense given that McSorley is gone after this year and he would be in contention to start right off the bat (or sit behind Stevens for only one year).
October 6th, 2017 at 11:26 AM ^
Also, what is Georgia notorious for doing to get recruits?
Hint:
October 6th, 2017 at 2:30 PM ^
No. Richt ran a clean program. That’s part of the reason he was let go. The view was he wasn’t doing anything it took to win. At least that’s what my UGA alum buddy says
October 6th, 2017 at 2:35 PM ^
That were legitimately offered money to play at Georgia. This is under Kirby, but I doubt it is unique to him.
October 7th, 2017 at 3:10 AM ^
Have you reported it to the NCAA? Was Wilson one of them?
October 6th, 2017 at 11:37 AM ^
Georgia is shifting their offense to a more read option attack and really wanted a mobile QB. They will have a package for Fields from day one and expect the QB situation to mirror what Meyer did with Leak and Tebow at Florida. Feilds is an elite prospect and will have a chance to beat out Fromm and/or Eason in year two.
October 6th, 2017 at 12:14 PM ^
I mean, it's easy to say that. But Smart isn't Meyer. And he's not going to blow up an offense that works. Fields might get a few packages with varying degrees of success, but he won't be a starter until Fromm leaves, assuming Fromm keeps playing well.
October 6th, 2017 at 12:20 PM ^
Their OC Jim Chaney was Joe Tiller's OC for nine years at Purdue, so I'm sure he has a grasp on the spread offense.
They are running a more pro-style attack because that's what they have the pieces for (which is what all good coaches should do), but if you look at the type of recruits they are bringing in, it's obvious they are moving to a more spread attack.
October 6th, 2017 at 12:54 PM ^
is such a broad term. Purdue's offense under Tiller was a passing spread. The running ability of the QB was not a focal point of Tiller's offense.
October 6th, 2017 at 1:21 PM ^
OCs adapt to what works. Mike Debord spent over 90% of his snaps at Tennessee in the shotgun formation. The point is that even though they are a pro-style offense right now, Georgia is shifting to a spread offense that favors a mobile QB.
October 6th, 2017 at 2:22 PM ^
but using Chaney's tenure at Purdue under Tiller isn't really evidence that he is going to utilize the running ability of a QB.
October 6th, 2017 at 3:25 PM ^
It is when you combine it with the fact that they just landed Justin Fields, the #1 rated dual threat QB in the class.
October 6th, 2017 at 8:28 PM ^
I mean, I generally agree with what you're saying, but it's just a conclusory statement to say that because they have Fields they will now use the QB's athleticism. By that logic, it would be the case even if he went to Georgia Tech. You can use examples of OCs who adapted to their personnel, there are as many or more examples (including at this very school) of OCs who either superficially tried and failed to adapt their system, or didn't adapt at all.

isnt mcsorley a junior?
October 6th, 2017 at 12:35 PM ^
Ah, yeah, that's what I get for using ESPN's rosters, where he's listed as a senior. Well, in that case, one year behind McSorley is better than two years behind Fromm.
October 6th, 2017 at 11:19 AM ^
He seems like a dynamic play maker.
When are we getting those at QB again? Sucks.
October 6th, 2017 at 11:21 AM ^
Everyone is writing off Peters and McCaffery already?
October 6th, 2017 at 11:22 AM ^
No. They are good, but are they game breaker types? With Harbaugh I'm a bit shocked QBs aren't lining up to play.
JT Daniels goig to USC? Who are we targeting in 2019? (genuinely curious)
October 6th, 2017 at 11:25 AM ^
How the FUCK do you know they're not "game breaker types"? Neither has played in a god damned game yet??? WTF???
October 6th, 2017 at 11:28 AM ^

October 6th, 2017 at 5:38 PM ^
“From you okay?!”
“I learned it from watching you!”
Classic anti-dope commercial from the early 80’s (maybe even late 70’s).
October 6th, 2017 at 5:50 PM ^
This was 1G in the anti-drug commercials. The next was the egg frying in the pan, "This is your brain. This is your brain on drugs. Any questions?" Then we got all the jokes about the latter, such as, "This is drugs. This is your brain on drugs. This is your brain on drugs with a side of bacon, hash browns and toast. Any questions?" :-D
October 6th, 2017 at 7:17 PM ^
a side of chili with that?
October 6th, 2017 at 11:36 AM ^
Not true. Peters played in the Spring Game. So clearly he's not a Spring Game Breaker type.
October 6th, 2017 at 1:32 PM ^
McCaffrey has been with the team for 4 games. Clearly he is already a bust since nobody is even talking about him in the Heisman race! /s
Since about 30% of the Michigan fan base would actually agree with this comment - I had to slap the "/s" on there.
October 6th, 2017 at 11:29 AM ^
Peters and McCaffery were both very highly rated QBs? QBs aren't like olinemen where you are tying to stock pile 4-5 studs every year. If you are going out and signing two highly rated guys over the course of 3 years with a couple of more 'project' type QBs mixed in, your QB recruiting is going quite well.
October 6th, 2017 at 11:42 AM ^
Because let's see, Daniels is from CA and committed to a school in California, and Fields is from GA and committed to a school in Georgia. For all the talk about "the best kids in Michigan should go to Michigan," a lot of folks sure act like the best kids in other states should also come to Michigan.
Also, Peters was the #6 QB (#64 overall) in the composite in 2016, and McCaffrey was the #9 QB (#123 overall) in 2017. When you're fighting schools like Alabama, Clemson, FSU, OSU, USC, Oklahoma, Stanford, etc. for the same group of guys, that's about what you can expect.
October 6th, 2017 at 11:59 AM ^
Right now the best one is going to Kentucky of all places...I know he's visiting. We have a shot to flip or is there something more?
(FYI Marquan McCall)
Also Kalon Gervin is listed as the #3 player and he's uncommitted.
