Former OSU RB Bri'onte Dunn charged with rape, kidnapping

enough bad news this week.
October 4th, 2017 at 9:45 PM ^
More bad news pls
October 4th, 2017 at 8:08 PM ^
This is bad all around. Especially for the young woman. Also for Dunn. While it isn't great for OSU, at least he wasn't on the team right now. IIRC, we had recruited him as well. You could say Michigan dodged a bullet. Hope there is a silver lining, and that this helps Dunn make changes.
Everyone is different, and no one is motivated the same way or attracted to do the same thing as someone else. Having said that, rape is something which I find unfathomable on a personal level. I just don't understand why someone would want to do that.
October 4th, 2017 at 8:19 PM ^
We recruited him quite aggressively. That recruitment peaked (from an MGoBlog perspective) right around the time Tressel was fired. IIRC, he was a near 5* who was close to flipping to Hoke in Spring 2011.
October 4th, 2017 at 8:42 PM ^
He was Dymonte Thomas's cousin, IIRC. We thought we had an in there and I think many expected a flip, but never happened.
October 4th, 2017 at 9:52 PM ^
he still is.
October 5th, 2017 at 8:14 AM ^
...unless Dymonte had him excommunicated from the family.
October 4th, 2017 at 8:58 PM ^
Thinking about it from the victim's perspective, I imagine that's something that even the most resilient victim never fully recovers from. I can't imagine anything more scarring than sexual abuse of any kind.
October 4th, 2017 at 10:35 PM ^
I was raped before and I honestly don't care. Fully recovered.
October 4th, 2017 at 10:43 PM ^
Not sure if serious but zero idea what your point is. That rape isn't so bad? Or just joking? Wtf... really...
October 4th, 2017 at 10:50 PM ^
I'm very serious. And my point is that it's not impossible to recover from. . To be clear, I think rape is one of the sickest things one human can do to another.
October 4th, 2017 at 11:32 PM ^
I can't believe you ass holes are down voting a rape victim because my opinion on the event doesn't fit with your beliefs from afar.
October 5th, 2017 at 1:18 AM ^
It's just that we don't believe you, and disbelieving is not a stretch.
October 5th, 2017 at 2:19 AM ^
Broader posting history of being provocative to the point of absurdity + Weirdly provocative claim = Skepticism.
October 5th, 2017 at 5:21 AM ^
How could anyone not trust Gucci...Mane?
October 4th, 2017 at 8:07 PM ^
I'd normally get all self righteous about this, but we're not exactly squeaky clean this week.
October 4th, 2017 at 8:55 PM ^
So it's ok to throw stones as long as you don't live in a glass house?
October 4th, 2017 at 9:06 PM ^
It's not only ok to throw stones at rapists, but I feel it's ok to throw some .308 caliber bullets at them also.
October 4th, 2017 at 9:35 PM ^
Username checks out.
October 5th, 2017 at 12:28 AM ^
Here he is, ladies and gentlemen. Here is the guy who has to prove he is more outraged by rape than anyone else...
October 5th, 2017 at 8:09 AM ^
Or just a fan of specifying the caliber of bullets for various tasks.
October 4th, 2017 at 8:58 PM ^
I think the response by Michigan was immediate and clear. I think that’s how an elite program should handle their business (making a decision internally and acting before it’s in the media, not as a response to it). I’m not sure what will happen with Johnson, but the coaches acted decisively and this the program remains clean to me.
October 4th, 2017 at 8:07 PM ^
Also Dymonte Thomas's cousin.
October 4th, 2017 at 8:20 PM ^
His decision making was not what it should be - hope he can get his life headed in a more positive direction.
October 4th, 2017 at 9:31 PM ^
If he gets convicted of those charges, I'm not sure how much of a life he'll have left to turn around.
October 4th, 2017 at 8:23 PM ^
Yeah know this won't end well and you know it's a dick move to post it. You must really love First Take.
October 4th, 2017 at 8:25 PM ^
What the fuck is going on?
October 4th, 2017 at 8:50 PM ^
Oh, nothing much. How are you today?
October 4th, 2017 at 9:56 PM ^
Agree a lot with former big time recruits who didn’t pan out struggling once no one cares who they are. I’ve worked with a few.
October 5th, 2017 at 7:31 AM ^
Worked with a few.
October 5th, 2017 at 8:38 AM ^
Uh, OK. I don't know why you replied to me with that. I mentioned nothing of the sort.
October 4th, 2017 at 8:34 PM ^
I remember his recruitment. Meyer told him that if he took another visit to Michigan he would pull his offer. Dunn blinked.
October 4th, 2017 at 8:49 PM ^
who dominated at the high school level, but it never translated to college.
October 4th, 2017 at 9:02 PM ^
Well he was also stuck behind two of the greatest RBs OSU has ever had, but yes, if he was good enough he would’ve played.
October 4th, 2017 at 9:12 PM ^
I had always heard that while his immaturity was well-noted and troublesome, a lot of what kept him back was an unwillingness to contribute in other ways such as on special teams. They used to gripe endlessly about that on 11W, and it did end up sitting him comfortably behind Elliott and while he supposedly was in the mix with Weber last year, his troubles at that time cut his career short.
October 4th, 2017 at 8:53 PM ^
If I remember correctly, he watched The Game from Michigan's sideline, wearing a Michigan visitor pass and decked out in maize and blue.
October 4th, 2017 at 8:44 PM ^
Memo to all players everywhere:
October 4th, 2017 at 9:45 PM ^
The way I see it - Driving 10 mph over the speed limit is "breaking the law".
Assaulting and kidnapping someone is morally wrong and just plain fucked up. Highly doubt Mr Dunn gives a shit about the law.
October 4th, 2017 at 8:44 PM ^
I guess he's Dunnski playing football.
October 4th, 2017 at 8:55 PM ^
Oh man. That's awful.
I feel horrible for the (alleged) victim. This is one of those situations where the rivalry shouldn't factor into our reaction (particularly since Michigan recruited him hard and nearly flipped him after he committed to OSU).
October 4th, 2017 at 8:51 PM ^
Didn't read the signage in the locker room. POS.
October 4th, 2017 at 9:03 PM ^
One bit of positive spin from all of these sexual assault reports:
I wonder if the message is getting out that it's not shameful to report a sexual assault. Some peoples are ashamed - and shamed - to come forward. As we move forward as a society, I hope victims of assault realize that reporting these incidents could prevent further crimes and increase awareness for victims' rights.
October 4th, 2017 at 11:10 PM ^
tell that to jordan lewis
October 5th, 2017 at 1:08 AM ^
I believe you're missing the point. Also: Jourdan*
October 5th, 2017 at 1:26 AM ^
Mlive I see in you
October 5th, 2017 at 8:00 AM ^
AFAIK, Jordan Lewis was never accused of sexual assault. And neither was Jourdan Lewis.
October 5th, 2017 at 8:16 AM ^
the same guy that hits up this blog from time to time (until the new server took him away). imagine that.
October 5th, 2017 at 9:19 AM ^
Whoops. I added a period at the end.
