Castleton picked Michigan over Illinois, but he was also mulling offers from Florida, Florida State, Xavier, Clemson, Purdue and others. He’s a fringe top-100 prospect who saw his stock rise significantly this summer.

Rankings:

  • 247 Composite: #116, four-star
  • Rivals: #120, four-star
  • Scout: #70, four-star
  • 247: #138, three-star

Real nice is what I actually said. And this class wont finish in the top 5 and probably not in the top 10 but it will be top 15 for sure and that's the range I think JB should be in every year. He's done a great job this cycle, not sure what else you want me to say, and frankly don't understand why you care so much.

While there's no way to tell if somebody does it or not right now surely the post with the instant upvote is surely a strong indicator of somebody who does it.  And as far as how many people do it I can only reference a story my late father told me when I was about 12-13 years old that i still remember.

He said "Donald - always remember there are two types of boys when it comes to masturbation.  Those that do it and those that lie about doing it."

Oh well... here is what I posted in my barely-too-late thread

So: I've always been in Coach B's camp, and I'm happy to see other people come around. And I do think this is an excellent class for us, but:

I do have to pump the brakes a little bit. This class is #2 right now because a *ton* of the highest rated players in the country haven't committed yet. Of the top 16 kids on the 247 Composite right now, only 4 have committed. Once the rest commit, and likely to the usual suspects, our class ranking is definitely going to go down. I don't know how far, and it's still a class we should be very happy about, but it's not going to stay anywhere close to #2.

Yeah, exactly. I just went back and looked at the last few years on the 247 Composite. Our current class would have been between 15-11 in each of the last six years. That's where we should expect to end up. And that's not at all bad news! This is a very, very good class. It's just not staying in the upper ecehelon.

So is the new Beilein recruiting complaint going to be that given the FBI investigation, he should have waited and tried to haul in like six guys in the top ten nationally, or something absurd like that?

I'm not advocating that at all, but I wonder if we'll hear something along those lines.

This is great news.  We need the next Moe Wagner.  Shaping up to be a very fine class.

I have always been a strong supporter of Coach Beilein, never wavering when so many others were jumping ship.  Just to prove it, here's what I posted last January:

"Fire Beilein -- now!"
