OT - Tebow drafted before Clausen
Just hilarious - wonder if the session with Chucky on ESPN last week killed Jimmah!?

LOL I know, I love it.
Enjoying Jimmah's tears with a nice merlot.
Good for Tebow, as the ESPN dude said, he's a "big-time human being."
But the scene takes on whole new levels of meaning after last week's South Park...

OMG I HAVE THE SAME SHIRT AS TEBOW
OH CRAP I HAVE THE SAME DRESS AS CLAUSSEN
April 22nd, 2010 at 10:15 PM ^
Clausen's still going to be hands down a better pro QB, not even close
April 22nd, 2010 at 10:23 PM ^
What is this opinion based on?
April 22nd, 2010 at 10:37 PM ^
It's not like no one has seen these guys play. It's probably based on watching their games.
April 22nd, 2010 at 10:43 PM ^
Yeah, but back up your opinion. I could just as easily say "Clausen has bust written all over him." But if I don't back it up, then it doesn't really add any value to the conversation.
BTW, I think he will be a bust because his biggest role model has an eating problem and he is an emu.

Did I miss a whole bunch of games where Tebow looked bad? The guy wasn't chopped liver in college.
April 23rd, 2010 at 12:02 AM ^
Neither was Eric Crouch.
April 23rd, 2010 at 12:48 AM ^
or ryan leaf
or your mom......zing (im drunk)
Who's success level reminds me a lot of Tebow.
(Though to be fair, I think he had health difficulties as well preventing him from playing..but he wasn't being drafted as a QB anyway).
So, then...Or Tommie Frazier's mom....!!!
(Nah...too far).

Never understood the Quinn hype. Clausen, though, looks like he'll be great.
Clausen doesn't have a lot of upside. What you see is what you get. At least that's the knock on him according to some of the discussion on ESPN last night. It seems like a lot of teams are drafting in the first round more on high upside rather than established baseline talent of late.
April 22nd, 2010 at 11:43 PM ^
Its because Clausen has a decided schematic advantage.
April 22nd, 2010 at 10:15 PM ^
I dislike both Clausen and Tebow, and probably Tebow more so. When is LeFevour supposed to get drafted?
April 22nd, 2010 at 10:18 PM ^
Sometime before Clausen!
as a UDFA. He doesn't have the arm to be a NFL QB and his mobility advantage that he have in college will be neutralized. He's a lesser version of Tebow and Tebow isn't a NFL QB.
Multiple draft guys have LeFevour as between the 4th and 6th QB in the draft. He'll get drafted, but probably not until post 3rd round. And BTW-- did you notice Tebow got drafted IN THE FIRST ROUND! If Denver didn't think he'd have a better than average shot being a NFL QB, they wouldn't have drafted him that high.
had a terrible pro day, he consistently misses target and the ball floated on him. The fact that he refused to throw in the combine is a big negative in the scout's eye. Tebow's arm is stronger than LeFevour.
I would not be surprised if he went undrafted.

Tebow has his limitations, but he'll work his ass off and he's a leader. Clausen is not a leader.
April 22nd, 2010 at 10:31 PM ^
Like Tom Jackson said, being a leader doesn't matter if you're on the bench.
April 22nd, 2010 at 10:58 PM ^
You also can't lead when your teammates hate you and your fans punch you out at the bar.
April 22nd, 2010 at 11:28 PM ^
If they punch you at the bar, wouldn't that imply that they aren't your fans?
April 22nd, 2010 at 11:39 PM ^
Logic FTW
April 23rd, 2010 at 10:56 AM ^
I double majored in Logic and Winning.
Most players are on the bench for around half of the game. Are you telling my Lamarr Woodley isn't still a leader when the offense is on the field?

Me likey another ND QB draft day tumble. It makes me laugh inside. And outside.
April 22nd, 2010 at 10:20 PM ^
I never thought I'd say this, but all the "experts" have really made me start rooting for Tim Tebow to succeed, if for no other reason than to throw his name in Mel Kiper's smug face every year when the draft rolls around.
April 22nd, 2010 at 11:24 PM ^
mostly for the sake of talking about Tebow. I don't think that anyone should take it seriously.
April 22nd, 2010 at 10:22 PM ^
Shocked -but not surprised.
April 22nd, 2010 at 10:25 PM ^
Me too. I am flabbergasted, but not surprised.
April 23rd, 2010 at 10:14 AM ^
...dumbfounded, but not surprised.
...boggled, but not surprised.
April 22nd, 2010 at 10:37 PM ^
I'm not surprised, but at the same time, I feel like he probably would've been around in the mid-2nd round. I just feel like they could have waited.
April 22nd, 2010 at 10:26 PM ^
we still beat him in his only bowl loss!
April 22nd, 2010 at 10:28 PM ^
He never beat Michigan or Auburn. I'm still scratching my head as to how Auburn beat him twice.
April 22nd, 2010 at 10:30 PM ^
cross dresser Clausen.
April 22nd, 2010 at 10:36 PM ^
Once the NFL season begins, we will never hear about Tim Tebow again.
I can already see Ed Werder stationed outside Broncos camp for 3 weeks straight.
April 22nd, 2010 at 10:37 PM ^
Dude was selected over Clausen by the team who traded for Quinn. ND looking good!
April 22nd, 2010 at 10:42 PM ^
Michael Wilbon is not surprised.
April 22nd, 2010 at 10:43 PM ^
Please, don't. I would much, much, MUCH, rather have Jimmah here than Timmah. Seriously, McDaniels is an idiot.
April 22nd, 2010 at 10:50 PM ^
what happened to my post on Tebow? Did I break a rule I didn't know about?
Anyway, Tebow sucks.
[steps off soapbox]
April 22nd, 2010 at 10:51 PM ^
Is like being asked if I would rather be disemboweled, or drawn and quartered.
April 22nd, 2010 at 10:59 PM ^
I actually like McCoy better than either of them. On or off the field.
April 22nd, 2010 at 11:02 PM ^
I've always liked Tebow. I still don't think I agree with the pick, but I think it's worth it being able to see Kiper throw a huge fit every time a team passes on his highest ranked QB in Clausen.
April 22nd, 2010 at 11:14 PM ^
I know that many here are tired of his hype, but he really didn't ask for it. He has conducted himself with class, and has been true to his beliefs. It isn't his fault that the media has fawned over him since he was a freshman.
I think his future is at TE, FB, or H-back, but I also think he has a chance to develop himself into a decent NFL QB if he is in the right system. I think that scouts have seen Tebow work his ass off to change his motion while they have seen Jimmah talk about how good he is.
Natural talent can get you by in college, but the person who works his ass off usually succeeds in the NFL. Obviously, NFL scouts have more faith in Tebow's work ethic than Claussen's, and they probably have a lot more faith in his ability to stay out of trouble off the field.
I do have to admit, though, that I would laugh very, very hard if pics of Tebow smoking a cigar and hefting a beer with a stripper even made it onto youtube.
That being said, I think Tebow is a decent pick for a late first-rounder. The Lions and Jets have blown a lot earlier picks than that over the years.
